Old Mattel 1971 hand held/portable game that never was produced

It looks like one of those 8mm film cassette players/projectors from the early 70's I used to have a Kenner Snoopy "Drive In Theater" as a kid (early 70's). It projected the video either on the included screen or a wall. They played small cartridges which contained very short movies I...

Got a Free Custom Wall Calendar Today!

Looks good Tighe! I started on a classic game calendar from a code I got on a Target coupon. It's for a free 12 month custom photo calendar from Shutterfly.com. The code is good through 12/28 so I just have to make sure I submit it by then. I assume they give this out to a lot of people so...

Arcadization Project - Donkey Kong '94

Yes I was, but I don't recall any in store promos for that game. I still think it would be less work to bump the image up/right by .5 than it would be to recreate the crane. You'd just have to clone a bit of the brick and barrel. Or just leave it, as it looks fine the way it is. :)

Arcadization Project - Donkey Kong '94

Tighe, you're getting caught up on details. It's going to turn you into a Crazy Kong. :P I think the last revision looked nice. The crane would help fill in the sky, but I don't honestly think it needs it. I would also stick with the crane from the same source 1200dpi cover or else it might...

Arcadization Project - Donkey Kong '94

Tighe, I like this best. I have them all from the start and this seems the most balanced when viewing in a slide show. I like to blow out the saturation & contrast to accentuate the toon style but that's just me :P It may not look as good on a cab though. Actually looking at it on here...

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

Wow Tighe I am impressed. It came out much better than I could imagine. You know I am usually for keeping home consoles and arcade cabs away from each other. :P, but this does make sense. Very nice job with the details. I love the Gumpei Yokoi plate too. Good to see your parents enjoying it...

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

Tighe, have you considered keeping the original VB controller as part of your project? The controller was one of the best for it's time and seemed to be a perfect fit for the system. It would look more like the Kiosk, but that's pretty cool looking too. :)

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

You think so? xV6gCro8UIs hua4kVJDNKc Aside from the jumping in and out of the foreground I don't see much of a resemblance. The style looks like the difference from Super Mario Land 1 to Super Mario Land 3 (w/Wario). Wario is fine, but there is something a bit more special about controlling...

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

I'm sure we would have seen at least one of those if the VB had been a success. I really wish this came out too... Super Mario Land VB. A demo was shown at E3 '95 hua4kVJDNKc

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

I like Red Alarm. It reminds me a lot of the original StarFox. Well, they announced GB, GBC, TG16 games coming to the 3DS store so VB downloads wouldn't be unfeasible. Nintendo Power magazine also has articles on the Virtual Boy all the time so I don't think they are trying to bury it either...

    Arcadization Project - Virtual Boy!

Looks cool Tighe. It's unique too. Also, you could call yourself Jigsaw and strap people into it as a torture device. j/k :P I always liked the VB, but I have to admit I was a bit ticked after originally spending $179.99 on it and returned it a week later. During the Christmas season of that...

    Mario Propaganda

Those are pretty neat. Does he say how they are printed? When they don't get you details it's usually assumed to be inkjet on coated or glossy paper. For that price I'd want know that it won't fade right away in daylight!

    24" x 36" Homebrew Arcade Sideart Posters $20

Very cool. Can I ask if you scanned these yourself or if you used existing artwork as the source? I can't imagine it's too easy to scan original sized side art! The only thing I am concerned about is if the original source material isn't scanned in at a high enough resolution than the...

    fs:new 161 in 1 neo geo cart

Yeah, almost none of my top faves :( Baseball Stars, Top Player's Golf, League Bowling, Cyber-Lip, Ninja Combat, Nam-1975, Sengoku 2, Magician Lord, The Super Spy, Ghost Pilots, Riding Hero, Shock Troopers, among others. I find it strange that these are missing since they are some of the...

    1980's vintage video game magazines

Yeah, I know. I donated a few mag scans to them. :P I like to have the real thing. The same could be said for emulating games instead of playing the real hardware, but purists love to own the originals. I feel the same with my magazines. I don't mind having access to scans, but I want to own...

    1980's vintage video game magazines

I think it was a post and run on his part. :( If he puts them on eBay they will be swept up by Billmarioman no doubt. He buys just about every big lot of game magazine and then relists single issues at inflated (imo) prices, but I guess it works out well for him. I'd really like to buy some of...

    Introducing spoonmanx!

Hi, Thanks for the welcome. You must have misunderstood. I don't re-shrinkwrap anything. All of my sealed games are in fact factory sealed. I keep all of my boxed games in polypropylene bags, even the new games. I do this to protect them since I feel it's important to preserve this stuff. You...
