Just to give you some idea of the challenge ahead. While a score of 66,000 puts you in the top ten all-time, and is less than 2% from the current high score, it is quite the mountain to climb to reach 67,000. You would have to reduce all four lap times by an average of an entire second each...

I can't think of any secret to consistent 55 second qualifying lap times. The 55"20 was particularly low and rare, so I saved a screenshot.

I believe 55"20 is the fastest qualifying lap I've seen.

There is only one dip-switch setting that will allow for the world record score to be attained, so there should be no reason to discuss possible dip-switch settings as a factor in a high score for Pole Position.

Thread inspired me to play. Plan to make the annual holiday push for 67k in December.

The machines Les and I played on had a max MPH of 244. The pictures of those 67k+ scores showed a top speed of 244MPH, even though it can display 245 from time to time Also, back in May of this year (2014), I had a qualifying lap of 55.32 on my machine in the garage.
