There is a fuse in the bottom of the cabinet that will kill the monitor and it's cooling fan if the fuse blows or is corroded. Worth checking out.

What type of sound issues are you currently experiencing with your OutRun? Does your current sound amp work at all?

You can use almost any 2.5" SATA hard drive in the PS3's. Might be just as easy to buy a new one for cheap.
