Fixed broke Ok so I decided to change the cap on the switch at lunch. Seemed to work. Came back from work and changed the cap on the left thumper bumper. It works now Too. I started playing the machine and the middle thumper bumper stopped working again. I resoldered the cap and it worked 3...

Broke more Now it seems that I have broken another thumper bumper switch. When I run the switch self test, switch 38 chimes and sometimes 40. Did I take out the snubbers or are both switches bad? Solenoid test runs fine. Neither left or center thumper bumper work now :(

I have a silverball mania machine that I have done some work on. It now seems to rack up points by itself. At first I thought it was just from the switches needing adjustment because it would add points when the flippers were activated. Do I need to just make sure all the switches are adjusted...

I have a silverball mania self test question. I run the self test to the solenoid check. 1-9 work, but I can't figure out why 11 (flipper) won't. When the self test runs, and I hold in the flipper, it works fine. It's supposed to fire by itself right? thank you for any help you can give me.

Thanks again for the reply. So grounding the sound select yields pins 2-7 working, pin 8 produces no sound. Trace back to ROM board next? thanks

Thanks for the reply, I should have posted the whole description. If I don't press the diagnostics button, I get no sound when the game is up. I have new connectors on all my cables and the sound board was purchased in working condition. Something on the ROM board maybe?

seems like the PIA is on the sound board. I don't think the problem is with the sound board....anybody have any suggestions? thanks

Just got a new sound board from quarterarcade. When I push the diagnostics button, a sound repeats... Does this mean I need to check the data cable and the PIA on the ROM board? Any help would be great! thanks
