I just had a game room built with a wooden (well, laminate) floor. I don't want to just move the games and pins in and scratch the crap out of it. What do you guys recommend for protecting the floor against the feet of the games and pins?

I have the replacement decals, Cliffy protectors for the cellar holes and ramp. I just want to get the PF clean before I start putting the new parts on :) If I could get rid of the smudgy looking black cracks, then I'll be happy.

I have a dirty Whirlwind pin, and the mylar is bubbled in places (also the inserts are crazed, but that might be the mylar too). Is it worth removing the mylar? Or is that just going to make things worse? Also, the machine is dirtiest where there is no mylar, but I've been unable to get those...

Whirlwind has gotta be one of the best older machines. It's fast and has a couple of great toys with the spinners and the fan (if you have the topper). Out of all the games I own, I keep going back to this one.

Just because it is new, it doesn't mean it didn't crack when you first applied power. Making assumptions is a sure way to miss problems and waste time, best to rule out everything it can be first. Also, poor soldering technique can still lead to bad joins even if you *just* did the work. If I...

First check for bad solder joins and burned traces especially on the flyback. Also check the flyback for signs of cracking.
