I'm working on restoring a Gyruss and have taken apart the joystick and cleaned it up as best possible. Now I'm wondering what to use to lubricate things - hopefully something that won't collect dirt, and hopefully will last a while.

Was the original dust cover on a Monroe joystick in a Gyruss made out of a soft leather type material? Also, was it just on the stick loosely or was it glued to the underside of the control panel? Is there anywhere that sells replacements?
