  1. Game of the moment.

I've played it. If you like Time Killers you might like Blood Storm. I didn't like Time Killers at all and didn't think Blood Storm was much better. It is possible to take defeated opponents' weapons and use them in future matches which is a good idea but the gameplay just isn't there. IMO...
  2. Someone's got to buy this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=3222609780 A color vector monitor...still in the original wrapping!
  3. Played Apollo 13 pinball today

Has anyone here played the new Simpsons Pinball Party? I can't remember the last time I had so much fun playing a pin. 5 flippers, endless modes, and more quotes than you can shake a 3 eyed fish at. I'm planning on making it my next game purchase but man at $3700, it's quite a big purchase...
  4. Need help IDing a coin-op(fighter w/big screen)

Re: Need help IDing a coin-op(fighter w/big screen) It just hit me that maybe the game you were playing was a TMNT or Simpsons or a side scrolling fighter of that sort. Those types of games sometimes have 4 players....not 6 buttons though. The new Gauntlets also have four players, but three...
  5. Need help IDing a coin-op(fighter w/big screen)

Re: Need help IDing a coin-op(fighter w/big screen) I'm a fan of fighters, but I can safely say that you have completely stumped me on this one. Never heard of a 4 player fighter with 6 buttons for each player. Can you remember anything else about the game? JJJJJS Since it's customary...
  6. Super SF2 turbo question

http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/suicide.html Here's a step by step tutorial on how to change the battery...or you could have a distributor send the board + $75 to Capcom. At the bottom of this page http://members.aol.com/CMull11217/private/cps2faq.txt there's a list of companies that sell CPS2...
  7. Super SF2 turbo question

It looks just like a standard IDE cable, just not as wide. Best way to make the kick harness is to grab the floppy drive cable, take the actual cable part off leaving just the connector, use a razor to cut the sides of the connector off as close to the end pins as possible (else it won't...
  8. Super SF2 turbo question

SSF2 (and SSF2turbo) uses standard up, down, left, right input. Diagonals are triggered when two directions (such as up and left) are pressed together. Most likely you aren't getting the diagonals because you're using a four way stick. The only difference between a four and eight way stick is...
  9. Check out this custom marquee

Weird coincidence, this guy is also trying to sell it through the local classified ads for the low, low (read as 'ridiculously high') price of $250. I'm going to watch this auction and see just how cheap it goes for. JJJJJS
  10. personal favorites

I played A LOT of Mutant Fighter back in the day. It's a mindless button masher, but sure is entertaining when playing against a friend. I finally found a pcb of it about three weeks ago and all those memories of playing it in the arcade instantly came back. Even better since the same friend...
  11. Okay fellas......take the test.......report back

Re: Okay fellas......take the test.......report back 17, though I acidentally clicked on real once when I wanted to click on fake...darn mouse has a tendency to double click automatically. go pointlessness!
  12. Arcade game refrence!

Check out the episode entitled "Anthology of Interest 2" The three segments are "I, Meatbag" ","Raiders of the Lost Arcade",& "Wizzin". Raiders of the Lost Arcade deals with Fry wondering what it would be like if life were more like a videogame. TONS of references in that one. One episode...
  13. If you could have any five games....

I'd probably go with 1. Big Bang Bar (pinball) 2. Tempest 3. Tales From The Crypt (pinball. I even know where there's one for sale locally but I can't pony up the cash right now ARGH!) 4. NFL Blitz 99 5. Smash TV or Asteroids Deluxe, hard choice for me Fortunately, it's possible that I will...
  14. Trying to find this game....ARGH!

The Combatribes is the game you're looking for.
  15. sound board question

Ultimate MK3 and MK4 are the same as MK3. They both have sound on the main board so no aux board is needed. However, MK3, UMK3, and MK4 have one more button than MK1 and MK2 so you'll definitely want to drill a hole for the extra button and make sure that your extra button harness has a wire...
  16. Laser disc

Out of curiosity, what are the differences between a LD-V1000 and an LD-V2000? I've got an LD-V2000 sitting around doing a whole lot of nothing...
  17. MK4

I usually see them up here in the northwest for about $800 on up. MUCH cheaper to buy a MK1 or 2 cab and an MK4 boardset. I believe there are even cabinet stickers for MK4 still available for around $30.
  18. Spank the Monkey!

848mph here. I wonder just how fast it can go?
  19. I got my Cyclone pinball today!!

I've been looking around for pins lately. Found a Dr. Dude yesterday, but it didn't have a price tag on it and one of the plastics was broken. I'm thinking of picking up a Rescue 911. Price seems a little high at $1145 though.... JJJJJS I'd kill for a Scared Stiff pin under $1500.
  20. vid. gamez

I've got those magic slider things and eh, they work ok, but not great. They make moving a whole lot easier, but they have a tendency to slide out of place. Perhaps if they were glued on somehow they'd work better. JJJJJS
