Why are there so many wire-wrapped connections on monitor boards? For example the G07 I'm working on has them on the neck-board, the two going from the main board to the HOT, and one going to the high-voltage control. Is there a reason these wires are wire-wrapped instead of soldered?

I have a cabaret Centipede and the sides are just an ugly wood grain "side art"? I don't even know what you call the stuff? I was looking at the full-size Centipede side art reproductions, but they are too long for the cabaret cabinet. Are scaled-down versions of the original side art available?
