Just curious ... what would be so difficult about reproducing the handlebars at a "reasonable" cost ... it seems like a lot of the assembly could be cut by a plasma cutter or water jet ... would the welding be the problem from there? In a pinch, you could use a Star Wars yoke you know :-) ...

I, Robot! Someone had to have hooked up power the wrong way ... After replacing 20+ dead ICs (4 or 5 were bipolar PROMs) I had the boards functioning fine, but with goofy color. Still have to fix the goofy color though :-). Worst board I ever fixed out of 100 or so over the years.

Actually, hack saw half the sides off the cockpit, throw away the canopy, get some glue, 2x4s, bolts and hinges and you can make a bed/recliner out of the cockpit SW. Plus you could take a sledgehammer to the 25" crummy tube in there and fire in one of those Black Friday 720p TVs people try...

Fred Rogers was the exact same way in real life as he was on his television show FWIW. There was absolutely nothing fake about the man. He was quite easy to run into here in the Pittsburgh area. He'd always make time for any fan that simply said hi to him. I'm not one for hero worship of TV...

That Star Trek was an Asteroids conversion ... They're easy to find. The guy that bought them was marketing it as a dedicated Star Trek and continued to do so even after being told by 5 different people that it wasn't. Trust me, if you want a Trek, wait until a dedicated upright comes around...
