Control panels that are built for a right hand dominant person -- the fire button is always on the wrong side. Just put a button on both sides.

I've used a product called "Goo Gone". Works well at breaking down adhesive so it just peels right off.

I put a new 110v fan in my Star Wars from my local Radio Shack. Should not cost you more than 15 bucks or so if I remember correctly. They have one exactly the same size and it drops into the housing of the old fan and it is quieter than ever.
