Was there insurance discussed between you and the shipper. Personally I insure everything I send whether the buyer pays for it or not, it costs next to nothing. I've never paid more than 5 dollars, that may have cost 10 or 20 but would have obviuosly been worth it.

I actually think thats a pretty good idea, its great for someone who doesn't want to devote a lot of space. You can take off the tv and you just have a little shelf to move around. its not the "real experience" but I think whoever made it had some ingenuity.
