    Pinbox3000 Cardboard Pinball System

I found this the other day during a random search. I thought it was hilarious. "A tabletop pinball system made of recycled cardboard. Laser cut parts, customizable play boards, and gravity-powered. Tilt the future!" I know there is a great deal of rancor in the pinball community about...

    Strange Battlezone issue

We are having a very strange issue with a Battlezone. The video display disappears slowly from the top down. It does not squash. It is like the screen is slowly being wiped out from the top down. I have put the test screen up and adjusted the X & Y sizes and the X and Y BIPS. While the test...

    6100 Monitor help

I recently picked up a Gravitar and a couple of days ago, it make a popping noise and the Blue and Green colors are gone. I haven't played with vector monitors much and although I tried searching, there are too many 6100 threads and I didn't see any that discussed this. Is there a go to...

When was the last time you saw a StarWars (vector) in the Wild?

When was the last time you saw a StarWars (vector) in the Wild? We have a StarWars (the original 1983 vector) at the Game Preserve and it got me thinking if there are any others out there in arcades that people can just stop by and play. Or are they all in collectors' home arcades and dirty old...

Anybody know anything about the auction Saturday in Dallas?

Anybody know anything about the auction Saturday in Dallas? Subject sez it all. I got a bingo card in the mail about it, but haven't looked into it further than that. Is it worth driving up for it? Is there any history with these auctioneers? ken

Yoke Connectors - Where to buy them?

This has probably been answered 1000 times before, but I can't seem to find the threads. Where do you get the plastic connector and the pins that plugs the yoke wires to the chassis? I have a 25" WG that apparently caught fire based on the melting that was done to the connector. Thanks. ken

    Jungle Lord project

My latest project: I bought it about 3 or 4 years ago and it has been sitting in my garage as an auxiliary storage shelf since then. When I bought it the guy said it had been running until somebody stopped in to look and it and then it just quit. Before I bought it, I opened up the back box...

Dr Who shows intermittent ground on rows 2 & 3

Thought I'd ask the guru's. Short of unsoldering each connection until the short goes away, is there a better way to diagnose ground shorts on specific rows? I did try unplugging the connector and the faults go away, so I am reasonably sure it is not on the cpu board. ken

    It Lives!

I purchased this bad boy a few years ago at an auction. I found out why it went so cheap when I tried to find the ramps for it. Only the Comet ramp has been reproduced. :( The rest, I had to wait to find someone who was parting one out. Then it took about a year to get enough time to clean...

Benefit Pinball Tournament for Barry Oursler

This is a reminder that there will be a benefit pinball tournament for Barry Oursler. For those who do not know Barry he was a very prolific pinball designer with design credits ranging from Williams 1978 Phoenix to Junk Yard in 1996. He and his wife have run into a bit of bad luck with medical...

    Flipper problem with RBION

My Ripley's has started having an issue with the right flipper. According to the manual, the flippers are pulsed for 40 mS on flipper button initial press and then they are pulsed for 1 mS every 12 mS for holding as long as the button is pressed. What is happening is that the initial pulse is...

No Pin under the Chrismas tree this year

This was going to be a happy tale of finding and winning a pin on eBay and the road trip to go pick it up. Instead it is a tale of deception, idiocracy or just plain scammery. Last week I found a Stern Playboy (the 2002 model) on eBay for $1800. I watched it for a day and did some research...

    6100 Blowing fuses

Had something strange the other night, my StarWars with a 6100 monitor blew both 5 ASB fuses (the ones by the outside edge). I put new ones in and everything is good again. Is this something I will need to watch or is there something simple I can do to prevent this in the future? Thanks. ken

    FS Parts: Carnival King boardset

I pulled Carnival King game from a cabinet a month or so ago. I was going to re-host it, but now I need the cash & the space. Everything is there except the gun and gun cable. When I pulled it, I had to cut the speaker wires because I couldn't get my fat hands in to get the last wall zip tie...
