Tube swapping a 25" wells gardener chassis/monitor combo.

Although maximum overkill is my normal setting, this process requires a bit of delicacy. If it still shorted then go to plan B.....

Tube swapping a 25" wells gardener chassis/monitor combo.

We want clear a short, not weld all of the electrodes together! :ROFLMAO: 12v benchtop supply works fine.

Tube swapping a 25" wells gardener chassis/monitor combo.

Since the tube heater is already shorted, try quickly sparking the heater with with a strong 12V source. Just use two alligator clips connect one clip to one of the heater terminals, then quickly hit the other heater terminal with the other clip. This will sometimes pop the short without...

    Amplifone “G” flyback install

Here is the heater wire connection. Leave a little bit of slack so it doesn't get pinched n the wood groove mount in the cabinet. Ignore how I have the red wire capped, because you have the amplifone focus block this red wire goes to the top of that block.

New APAR Amplifone "G" flyback install on Dezbez HV boards.

Hey Guys, I bought a couple of the new "G" model amp flybacks for some amazing arcading (Dezbez) reproduction HV boards. The nice thing about this model is it has a built in heater winding and gets rid of the wire wraps around the core like the "F" model. The heater comes out on a gray wire...

    Amplifone Fireworks

Where did you get the power transistors? A lot of the ebay ones are fake and only last a few moments.

Finally got the 6100/AMP HV and deflection prototypes finished.

OK, I got the first two sets mated with neck boards and harnesses and was able to do some testing. I still have a little blooming issue with the HV board and am working on that.

Are there schematics for the Fred K/ Shilmover XY kits?

I believe it is similar to the amp as well. Being surface mount it is very difficult to troubleshoot without a schematic. Both of these have multiple assembly issues (cold solder, lifted parts/traces).

Monitor builders/ techs, spark gap question.

That's the conundrum, the factory amp connector has this ring in the connector. It is connected to ground and sits in a circle inside the pin circle. I imagine it is in case the focus or screen voltages arc to the other pins in the CRT neck. Here is a patent I found on a similar device.

Monitor builders/ techs, spark gap question.

Hey Guys, I am putting together a bunch of amplifone vector clones and have a question. The factory amplifone neck connector has a small metal ring with tabs that forms the spark gap protection. I have seen this on older TVs as well. The WG 6100 doesn't have this protection and neither does...
