bump.
I've had images sitting for over a year.
I cant actually find out what constitutes a perfect image, but the ones I submitted are better quality than some of the ones I've seen, and would certainly improve the page if they were uploaded.
I've found a few pcbs need a resistor in series with the outputs to avoid overdriving the rgb inputs (resulting in smearing). I hooked up a 500 ohm trim pot on each line to address this. other than that it just hooks straight up.
My broadcast monitor is one of these...
you could try getting hold of a smaller rgb monitor for your test rig. i've got a luggable 10" broadcast monitor.
I tried the cga>vga (gonbes 8200) and though it works ok on 80% of pcbs there are some it loses sync or gains artifacts so I abandoned it for the test setup.
My best test monitor...
For future reference if anyone stumbles across this thread (as I did);
The Subelectro Meteroid is an asteroids clone.
PCB Schematics match the Atari PCB and the monitor in my upright is an Electrohome G05-802, all available online.
Interesting machine, At least someone spending 4k+ on it should look after it.
Wouldn't say it's a bootleg as its a completely different system to asteroids, not even got an x-y monitor.
