Who's auction is this in Johnson City, TN? 450+ arcade games

I am not expecting a lot of downward movement on these games. Most are a bit more uncommon and will hold price well. I didn't see a lot of your standard galaga pacman williams atari stuff. That said a lot of these would be interesting to play but I personally wouldn't want to own.

Why is the market soft right now?

I have not bought as much in the past few years. Not because I dont have the money, but because I can’t justofy the prices. I started in this hobby because it was cheap. I bought, sold, and traded a LOT because boards and parts were mostly under $100. When boards run 3-400 and most are not even...

What is the dumbest thing you have ever done working on or around an game?

I thought I could move my Robotron cabinet downstairs by myself. I loaded it up on the dolly and figured I would just ease it down the stairs. That sucker took off! I didn't strap it either so it went flying down and slammed into the wall. Busted the back door but somehow the monitor didn't get...

    Fast and Furious restore disks

Different versions usually added driver support for changes in hardware. In the case of F&F it maybe better to go with older versions. If I remember the later versions had vehicles removed due to licensing expirations.

Fast & Furious Drift Dongle Question

Chiming in here, having worked on LOTS of optiplex 740 systems. Many of these use the y connector in yhe pc to power the IO which in turn starts the PC. You can remove the y and power the pc directly if you wish, just need to run a separate supply for IO. Sometime that helps reduce load on the...

    Need for Speed Underground

NFS is windows embed. It is part of the restore image. You can switch a lot of parts on NFS as long as you have the patience to load drivers manually. You can use a sata drive with an adapter for IDE but you wont see any real performance difference. Certainly an odd issue you have. I would...

WTB K7000 Chassis for 25” tube

Appreciate the offer. Someone offered me one already but I wouldn’t mind a spare on hand for other games.

WTB K7000 Chassis for 25” tube

Need a chassis for a big blue cab I am restoring. Prefer working but does not need to be fully shopped. If you have screws for the chassis that would be a nice bonus. Thanks.

Massive rust removal in 24 hours for less than $1 (game changer)

I would live to try this out. I just finished cleaning up a 1940s fan and must have used a bottle of rust remover and still couldn't get it all. This sounds way less aggravating.

Bad Power Supplies - Fix Or Replace?

Personally I hate the idea of tossing a good repairable supply. Some types are getting herder to find and newer supplies are built so cheaply now that old “cheap” supplies look sturdy. It takes so little to fix them.

A glimmer of light at the end of a very dark tunnel involving Steven501

Fuckin' A, there is just too much damn SALT on this popcorn! Seriously guys, I don't trust this dude one BIT. That doesn't mean he can't make good. He just isn't showing a lot of effort. I mean if money is really hamstringing this stuff, then why not allow people to help him out? There are guys...

A glimmer of light at the end of a very dark tunnel involving Steven501

Here's the thing with scammers guys. Maybe some of y'all haven't dealt with it before, but they don't take the money and run. There is a hustle in this, one that even they fall victim too. They always think they can lie, spin, fraud their way out. And as long as they can keep finding people to...

Taste in arcade games more age-related or personal preference?

I wasn't allowed to go into arcades in the early 80s. My mom thought them too seedy. I started going into arcades late 80s and the last one near me closed early 2000s. Despite playing a LOT of fighting games, beat 'em ups, and a plethora of CPS2 gems, I have never put any in my collection. Most...

    Galaga PCB Repair Help

You aren't wrong, but like I said, I don't have much of a setup for doing repair work these days. I changed out sockets and checked the customs for breaks and was hoping I might see some change in operation, but no dice. I thought it best to seek better help.

    Galaga PCB Repair Help

Trying to help a friend out. I quit doing most arcade stuff for awhile but figured I could give it a shot for him. He has a Galaga PCB that is just a glitchy mess when it boots. Sometimes it will get a ram error, sometimes it will boot with a line of graphic at the top of the screen. Sometimes...
