Nintendo NES launch, arcade info too

Really amazing video with Nintendo if america employees from the early 80s. It's mostly about the NES launch but they do give some really good nuggets of arcade info, including that they pronounced it as V S system, not versus system, who invented the phrase "pak", and more.

FS Parts: Nintendo PP-7B Power Supply Working

Got a working Nintendo power supply. I've used it to power monitors and boards fine. The AC on the monitor line is a little high (as shown) but hasn't been an issue for me and I think it's within tolerances. Comes with a three prong cable I've modified to use with it. $100, it's all yours...

Local Story on Custom Arcades - Can't Be Accurate

Local news station has this story about a guy building what are basically custom MAME machines. I don't know the guy, or how accurate the story is, but it reads like a load of crap. "You just figure out," Coulsey said. "How do I get these old games to work on new technology? They all had old...

    Tech Tangents Covers Hydro Thunder

Anyone see the videos of Tech Tangents on YouTube getting two Hydro Thunders? It's cool to see someone cover it from a vintage computing perspective. Most YouTube channels cover gameplay, artwork, cabinet, etc. but Tangents has a specialty in old computers. Seems like he also cares a lot about...

Pinball Machine in Sky High film

Rewatching a movie called Sky High and there's a pinball machine. Can anyone tell what it is? Or is it a reskinned game just for the movie?

8 bit Guy Gets a Moonbase

Did everyone catch the 8-Bit Guy fixing up a Moonbase vid today? He's usually into vintage computers; seems like this is his first arcade game. He does pretty well with it considering! Only thing that bummed me out was adding the freeplay button but otherwise it was a fun watch.

    Donkey Kong Cabaret Manual Recreated

The only DK Cabaret manual available online is a scan from old, torn, and yellowed paper. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that it's available - but I thought it'd be nice to have a version that was a bit cleaner. Since I like doing layout work anyway, I recreated it completely. Redrew the...

FB - 3rd Party Super weird Punch out conversion, $150

This is the oddest looking Punch out conversion I've seen. Has the second monitor just sitting on top of a standard Nintendo cab! Price might still be fair for two tubes and a PCB though. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/369506815163343/?ref=facebook_story_share

Battle City Instruction Card for Red Tent

As far as I can tell, these cards don't exist and there isn't much artwork out there for Battle City at all. Decided to make one for my own uses, thought I'd put it on here for others to use if they'd like too.

Red Tent Resets, Can't Track It Down

Hey all, I'm trying to track down a weird resetting issue I'm having with my recently restored Red Tent. Here's what's going on... I flip the power switch on and for the first 15 minutes or so, the game will reset frequently. The amount of time between each reset seems to decrease until it...

    20-Z2AW Power Connector

I have a Sanyo 20-Z2AW that appears to have come out of a Punch-Out. From my quick research, I believe it was the upper monitor which is why it's using this special power connector instead of the typical 2-prong plug. I'd like to power it with this DK style power block in a test bench type...

Getting Power to Nintendo Inverter From Sanyo 14"

I've got a working Sanyo 14" (EZZ-W or EZZ-C, both labels are on the frame). I want to use it with a Nintendo color inverter as you can see in the pics but unsure where I can grab power from. I know I can get 12v directly from the power supply but I'd rather power it from the monitor for a...

So You Want to Add Fix It Felix to An Original Nintendo Cabinet...

I'm starting this thread after getting a couple PM's with questions on this. I'll start by answering the question and say: Don't. It's not a great idea. Doing a scratch build makes way more sense if you want a FFJr. BUT if you're super committed I'll try to lay out the challenges and how they...
