    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

If that's the case, the problem must be with the board. It may not be completely dead if it's able to show the low voltage error; my guess is that there's a short somewhere. I'm not an expert on Golden Tee boards, though, so I'm not sure if it would be reasonably repairable.

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

Not sure when you tried the security chip, but if it was with the old HD, that's probably why you got the warning. I just noticed the lack of a battery after I posted that.

FREE - Game: Hard Drivin' Cockpit in Northern VA (FREE - NOT MINE)

Awesome! I'd take it if I had the space. I've only played Race Drivin' on Midway Arcade Treasures 3, definitely a great game. Hopefully it finds a good home!

New guy, just got new games!

Congratulations! Rush The Rock is one of my favorite racing games. Was the metal 3-spoke steering wheel only standard on Extreme Racing cabs, while dedicated RTR:AE cabs had a different plastic wheel? Most of the games I've seen have metal wheels. Also, nice crane!

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

I would go ahead and swap the security chip from the working board to the non-working board. Can't hurt to try.

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

It looks like it has detected the drive (this is good) and is looking for an operating system to start (which would be the game). If the drive is blank, it's getting stuck at that screen because there's nothing to load and run. The manual (found here) states in Appendix A that the LED not...

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

Stiction is basically the heads getting stuck to the platter(s). More information on the shaking procedure can be found here, along with a bit about reflowing the solder, which may also be an option. Have you checked the voltage at the HD power connector? Try booting the game with the HD...

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

Do you hear any beeping sounds, or the drive trying to spin up? Stiction may be an issue, which may cause the low voltage warning. Try disconnecting and removing the drive, then hold it parallel to the ground (so the label on top faces up) and shake it with a twisting motion similar to that of a...

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

I would go ahead and replace the power supply. If it's not dead already, it probably will be soon anyway. Even if increasing the voltage gets past that point, it might still shut down later.

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

This. If the caps are bad, they might be able to give the required voltage with no load, but as soon as they heat up (heat increases resistance) and/or need to provide more current, they'll give out. This is why games will sometimes run for a short time, then shut down completely.

Dead cab. Where do I start?

That doesn't solve the issue of powering the monitor. This earlier post indicates that the AC voltage (mostly) stops after the line filter: That most likely is a line filter. Looks like you've found the problem, or at least part of it. It may be easier to get a second power cord to connect...

    Golden tee 2005 voltage issues

You can try to check the voltage on the 5V output once the game shows the low voltage screen if you haven't already. My guess is that the PS capacitors have given up the ghost. Replacing the PS is probably the best option at this point.

Dead cab. Where do I start?

If 2 different power supplies did nothing, there's an issue somewhere before that point. Was there voltage at the AC input on the PS? The power cord should be fine if voltage reaches the outlet inside the cab. From your pictures, it looks like the PS AC input wires go to the transformer...

Dead cab. Where do I start?

Does the LED on the power supply turn on? It looks to me like the adjustment knob may be broken. Does the outlet inside the cabinet work? Has the power cord been replaced? If not, I would probably start there unless the power supply indicated it was receiving voltage. What exactly did you...
