A very un-Japanese coin-op article from Dec 2020. Coin-op mag publisher vs trade show operator.

I was browsing through the ever-expanding treasure trove of the eLibrary here, and came across an extraordinary issue of Coin Op Journal (like a Japanese RePlay or Play Meter). Grab the popcorn. It's 'safety off time for the literary firearm! Human nature is to like a train wreck, and this...

Well that's an interesting Space Invaders Part II... words don't do it justice

In the eLibrary here, another photo, this one also from Leisure Play... from May 1980. Um... https://elibrary.arcade-museum.com/Leisure-Play

Sea Battle and a girl... (Zaccaria not Ramtek)

Another game I'm not familiar with is Sea Battle... not the 1976 Ramtek release, but the 1980 Zaccaria one. It wasn't even in KLOV but I just added it. I came across it browsing the eLibrary here. This photo is from the cover of the April 1980 issue of Leisure Play (like RePlay or Play Meter...

eBay - 3rd Party Pinata.com - new address for our eBay search tools.

We've moved our eBay search tools off of Ace and to Pinata.com. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend checking it out. www.pinata.com eBay makes it hard to view anything by category any more. Pinata makes it easy. Arcade, Jukeboxes & Pinball...

    Japanese Arcade Warning Signage.

Amusement Journal magazine, a Japanese magazine like RePlay or Play Meter, has a selection of 8 arcade signs that can be downloaded, each available in Japanese and in English (and several other languages). Let's just say there are both some strong cultural differences and similarities...

Pole Position II down with a case of pink eye

I have a Pole Position II on location at our Museum exhibition. When I got it it already had extra power jumpers to different points on the board, and an extra fan on the board. I changed out a dead NVRAM and faulty opto controller and checked voltages. It's been 100% well behaved without any...

Wanted: Board Sets: Spy Hunter upright (highest priority), Hang On, Super Off Road, Pong (Atari), Pole Position tested working a plus but not essential. Does anyone have one of these they are willing to let go?

Pinitech 6116 replacement NVRAM vs MCR version // Anypin DMD+ NVRAM comments // Swemmer

Pinitech 6116 NVRAM Replacements - different versions I recently added an NVRAM module to a Spy Hunter. There are threads here that talk about memory stability on MCR boards w/ NVRAMs improved with a 10k pull-up resistor. I saw one seller on eBay from the UK selling NVRAM modules with...

    Spy Hunter ram error...

So I have a Spy Hunter not starting up at the moment at the museum exhibit. I was going to drive down there anyway today... It's a little bit of a drive so I thought I'd ask about it here before I drove down. It wasn't saving scores and a tech installed an NVRAM at G5 but w/o the 10k...

Pasadena this weekend - last 25 seconds of the 2025 Classic Tetris World Championships.

I'm fortunate the the SoCal Retro Gaming Expo is held in my home town every year... which again brought us a 3 day Tetris tournament. I shot the end of it, and used it as an excuse to create my first YouTube short..., and my first IG video (ok... am I showing my age?) It's really impressive...

Shipstation (PayPal) vs Shipstation (PayPal) - WAY different prices for different people, and vs Pirate Ship

We were looking at pricing on a 9lb, 24x18x11" box w/ $300 insurance going from Los Angeles to Michigan today... Basically we use eBay, and PayPal, so I logged into paypal.shipstation.com from a link on PayPal. It looked really high, so we tried a different account and ShipStation gave us...

Museum of the Game - Petersen Exhibit -- So I guess we're an operator now!

I'm been posting more often then typical lately, looking for driving machines to buy, and for asking for tech advise on machines that were being cranky.... I mentioned I was working on a little show... when It's come to fruition. I full post about it is in the announcement section for those...

Sega Hang On Fails Ram Check (IC 74) but seems to play fine...

So I'm working on a Sega Hang On. On the self-test, it fails RAM check IC 74. If it really is that IC, it seems to be a Fujitsu MB8484-15L 8kx8 RAM. And of course it's soldered on the board. Now the game seems to play great, and my time is pretty limited now... I don't know if that RAM...

You heard it here first :) Be careful with Arcade 1Up machines because they are 'Vintage'

Last night we stopped by a local ice cream shop. They have had 2 Arcade 1up Pac-Man machines there for a while, and I've not paid much attention to them. I had a moment, so I gave one the operating machine a try. Their signage begged us to be careful with their 'Vintage' Pac-Man machines, and...

WTB: Super Off Road Optical Controller - Wico 21-6080 board or whole optical or optical+wheel

It seems I have a bad 21-6080 board. I'd need to fix the machine I have now, and I wouldn't mind having a spare. I'm looking for a Wico 21-6080 optical controller board, or a whole optical assembly, or a whole wheel w/ controller assembly, or multiples. Apparently the 21-6080 version is part...

Token Vender on Credit Cards - American Changer AC2006 or ??? - Also Nayax?

For our upcoming exhibition (news soon), we'll likely be handing out a free token to everyone. However, if someone wants to play a little more, we want to set up a card card based vendor. The location doesn't want to deal with cash. So we are looking at the American Changer AC2006...
