Tube swapping a 25" wells gardener chassis/monitor combo.

If you have a piece of crud across the contacts, a car battery will blast that clear.

Strong 12 volt source: Car battery.

    K4600 c625 cap keeps bulging

You never know. Generally, when a wire is used as a fuse, the magic smoke comes out really fast. Years ago (late 1970s) I was riding in a parade in a friend's antique fire truck go cart. It had a Harley Davidson transmission, and had a siren on the front. My friend ran a wire to a battery...

    K4600 c625 cap keeps bulging

Yeah, I agree. Bulging is overload - it's gassing. So either a bad lot of caps, or you have a short pulling too much current in the circuit.

Anode Cables tied in a knot???

I have no idea about how PETG holds up or it's temperature resistance rating. The anode wire shouldn't be hot. I think a check with a thermal gun (door closed, run for an hour to reach equilibrium, open door, and check temperature on the side of the cabinet) should help figure out whether the...

Anode Cables tied in a knot???

What are you printing this with?

Anode Cables tied in a knot???

I get chills seeing that there are still NOS monitors around.

Anode Cables tied in a knot???

Yep, it's to reduce the run. As long as the bend radius isn't violated, it's fine. Leave it be.

    Width coil

Turn that board over. I think you are looking for HORIZONTAL SIZE. Trace from the 3 leads on that pot to the WIRES - note the color of the wires. Trace where the wires go to the main PCB. Now follow those traces until you find a capacitor. That will likely be it.

    I think this one.

    Width coil

Okay, take a photo over anything round that looks like a potentiometer. It could be like this (Less blurry of course) or flat with a slot in it (without the white part sticking out). Try to catch the legend (the printing) under the part. Same with the red jumper wire. Take a picture of...

    Width coil

I went looking for the website and I get Forbidden or 404 errors.

    Width coil

Read your CRT manual first. It should provide some guidance.

    Width coil

Finding a coil that will work is a challenge. Try the trimmer (a small potentiometer in the circuit) or the cap trick.

    Chassis Identification please.

    1. You always can use Arcade Parts & Repair or most of the other places that will ship internationally. 2. South. BSE - that's no fun when making arcade repairs. Those no-seeums pack a wallop, and are nasty when you are trying to discharge a CRT.

    Chassis Identification please.

Suggestion: Look at the Randy Fromm videos. Pick up CRT repair in Australia. That, or pay to move me and my games there. The former is cheaper than the latter.

    Chassis Identification please.

It was adapting a non-arcade chassis and tube to an arcade function. Not something typically done. Extra connectors stubbed in, sections (tuner) left in place / abandoned.

    Wow - the ULTIMATE bodge-job.

    Rebuilt 25k7000 has poor focus

Did you try adjusting the FOCUS knob? I had a NFL Blitz/NBA Jam cabinet where the image was fuzzy. First, we removed the marque and cleaned the fuzz covered screen and marque, but that wasn't it. A few tweaks of the FOCUS knob on the flyback and it was crisp again.

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

Some thoughts: The semiconductors you stock will almost never be the ones you need. I literally have hundreds on hand. They are almost never the right ones. (I had one case where I had a 4116 RAM from Radio Shack which fixed my Star Gate when it had a ram failure - otherwise, none of them...
