SOLD: Plastic set for F-14 Tomcat pinball ($50 SHIPPED)

I feel you there. I'll probably list my full sets here at some point for $75 each... half off seems fair. Still might be a wait until somebody happens to need them.

SOLD: Plastic set for F-14 Tomcat pinball ($50 SHIPPED)

I believe new sets from CPR are something like $150... so I'd say a partial used set is less than that. If your set is missing the most commonly broken pieces, then maybe a lot less. I've got a couple of sealed CPR sets (for different games) I listed on pinside a while back for 100 each... no...

    Rock-Ola 478 issues

Love when people blame the kids/grandkids when their old-ass machine stops working. This sure sounds like a jukebox that was on borrowed time for a long time. The blaring noise from the speakers reminds me of a Rockola I worked on a few years ago... if not a 478, a model very close to that. It...

FS Parts: A bunch of untested Atari PCBs -- Holiday Price Cuts

For the record... everything in the post has been sold, except for the mystery bronze age board. Still have that if anyone wants it.

FS Parts: A bunch of untested Atari PCBs -- Holiday Price Cuts

I had some Lunar Lander parts from a cabinet I found on the side of the road around 25 years ago.... I think it was missing the game board. If it had been there I would've grabbed it! You may be aware that an Asteroids board with a multigame kit can play Lunar... so that's one option you might...

Just realized it's about as neat and organized as it's ever gonna be, so why not immortalize it.

Gottlieb Baffle Ball - What balls did they use?

The Pinball Resource, of course. https://pbresource.com/ Call and talk to Steve Young on the phone about this one. That's a pretty cool find. I am sure he can hook you up with the correct balls, and maybe some history as well.

    Most complex EM pinball??

I actually got two (or was it three?) Bally bingo machines working for a customer in his home a few years back. Definitely not a job for the faint of heart! Crazy complicated machines, but they were built to handle heavy play and take as many nickels as the players wanted to dump in.

Weird flipper sticking problem on Doctor Who...help!?!

I almost mentioned this. I've seen this with certain old Bally games (early 80s), but not on any 90s Bally/Williams games. With new aftermarket parts, though, it is a possibility.

Weird flipper sticking problem on Doctor Who...help!?!

I think they are doing the best they can with what's available. Back when WMS was still in the pinball biz, the rebuild kits were a great solution. The kits were assembled by Williams with the same OEM parts they were putting in new games, so the quality level was very high, and they were...

Weird flipper sticking problem on Doctor Who...help!?!

If the flippers stay up when the main power switch is turned off, it's almost certainly a mechanical problem. There are lots of little details to a flipper rebuild that need to be attended to if you want correct operation with every flip. One of the most commonly overlooked is the vertical...

Cap kits - Store them or order ad-hoc?

I've used this technique, but without a lot of confidence in the exact way I've been doing it. My variac has a built in meter for current draw, so I always power questionable gear through it... at least if I notice the current draw surging, I can kill power and limit the damage. Do you start at...

Wurlitzer 2304S Repair Log and Cries for Help Along the Way

Bill is the man. He has been working on these amps since before I was born... and I am not exactly young! I would think a bad transformer is pretty unlikely... fingers crossed for you.

Wurlitzer 2304S Repair Log and Cries for Help Along the Way

And yeah... it's hard to tell from pics, and tubes can sometimes do some weird visual stuff and still be okay... but what's going on in your pics does look kinda unhealthy. You might reach out to Bill Bickers (Jukebox Friday Night)... he will sell you good tubes for as fair a price as you're...

Wurlitzer 2304S Repair Log and Cries for Help Along the Way

Bad power tubes would not surprise me. 6973's are known to be less hardy than "normal" power tubes (such as a 6L6). They were an attempt to make a tube that did the same work as the older ones in the same package. I don't know all of the reasoning for their creation, but they date from an era...

Hoping to get some advice/feedback on a couple of Universal machines.

I agree on offering a little less... but both cabs look very salvageable. Cool to still find ones that have never neen converted.
