Arrived safe and sound! Unfortunately work as me extremely busy, so it'll be a few days before I can give it a good once-over.
  2. MCI Computer Baseball

It came out in 1973, so that would check out.
  3. Thread Move Requests

Just following up on this. Is it possible to get my thread moved?

So, there's been a development... I originally spotted and purchased my half-a-copy of Computer Baseball from Bob Cunningham at As Found Arcade Machines. When I purchased it, Bob mentioned that he had sold another, NIB example to a regular customer a while back, that they had in turn gotten...
  5. Thread Move Requests

Howdy, can you move my thread: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/mci-computer-baseball.549358/ to the general repair section? A more appropriate choice I think.

Definitely good advice. My tester won't do in-circuit testing, so those guys are going to have to come out anyway. Does my thought to start with the transistors make sense? I'm still very much an amateur at things like this. I'm much more comfortable with EM stuff.

Just a quick update. I've been able to identify the connections for coin switch, and can add credits to the game. I've identified the connections for the home and visitor buttons, and the home and visitor lights, as well as the connections for the "Hold Score" button, which allow you to carry...

Some progress! I got the power supply recapped. All the old caps tested ok, but I feel better having done it. I also replaced the light. It illuminates the marquee and the playfield, and the light i got is really too small. I'll find a better one, no big deal. I also traced out the wires for...
  9. MCI Computer Baseball

After I got the game moved into my workshop, I powered it up again, and nothing happened. While I was investigating, I saw a whisp of smoke from the power supply. Apparently on the trip home, one of the capacitors on the power supply got knocked lose, which caused overheating at the connector. I...

Thanks, I'd certainly be interested in getting it working!

Yeah, my MB didn't have a ball either, and I went through a LOT of balls before I found one I was happy with. Interestingly, this ended up being the winner for me. https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/PBP34 I recapped my MB sound card as well, and it worked once, and hasn't made a...

I did manage to get it moving enough to open and close the door with the little can of WD-40 I have in my office, but will bathe it in PB Blaster at home. Yes, it uses a physical ball, and no, I don't have it. I DO however have a wide assortment of balls in various sizes and materials at home...

Whew, long way to go to get back to square one, but it's all back together and hooked up. Plugged it in, and it's showing signs of life! All the Numitron tubes are working, and the pitch lights and game over lights are on. Whichever card is responsible for sound definitely needs attention, as...

Cabinet is glued back together and solid. I've put the plexiglass front cover and score bezel back in. The piano hinge for the back door is seized, so I'm hitting it with some lubricant to see if I can free it up. after that, I can put the wood playfield supports back in, then the playfield...
  15. MCI Computer Baseball

The cabinet is glued and clamped, and there was some necessary disassembly to separate the playfield and back door, both so they can be reinstalled separately, and to get all the broken glass from a fluorescent tube out. Everything looks complete and undamaged from all electrical/boards...

Yeah, I believe it's the diagram for the cabinet as well, which is super helpful. All of the boards, line cord, transformer, etc. are all in the main cabinet as I suspected, which means this should be a viable project. Attached the operators manual for anyone interested.
  17. MCI Computer Baseball

There are some sort-of schematics in the manual. There's something on the back door as well, but I suspect it's probably just labeling the components. Unfortunately, the cabinet took a pretty bad beating during shipping, so first order of business is going to be gluing all that back together...
  18. MCI Computer Baseball

Hi all! I thought this might be a good place to document my attempt to resurrect a Milwaukee Coin Industries Computer Baseball game. Firstly, because a bunch of you guys seem to be like me, in that you like the weird, offbeat and rare, and two, if there's anyone else out there with one of these...
