The excitement of finding a game with credits on it quickly faded...

I can remember when I was a kid if I found any game with credits on it other than Zaxxon I would be super stoked and I would play them no matter what. I was at Dave & Buster's recently and found this game with about half a dozen credits on it for some reason. After playing two or three games I...

That one game that others like but you just can't see why...

There are some games that just straight up suck and nearly no one enjoys, like Zaxxon or Spy Hunter II. I'm not talking about these "level 1 suck quotient games" here. There are other games that I see people playing, and obviously enjoying, that I can kind of see why they might enjoy it, but I...

Recall many years ago a reproduction art dealer on ebay from Canada?

I was recently talking about how awesome by Super Sprint decals came out. It's especially awesome that the pinstripes are actually separate pinstripes, not just 1 big sticker. I see in my email history I bought it "from the Canadian ebay guy people often complain about". I'm pretty sure it's...

Here's something you may never have seen (5 different old restored shooters lined up 1930s-1960s)

Kind of a follow up thread to this one: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/heres-something-you-may-never-have-seen-4-old-restored-shooters-lined-up.519689/ In this case, though, there are 5 instead of 4, and all 5 are different. There were only 2 different games in the last thread...

Anyone in Northern Virginia area with A Satan's Hollow?

I recently bought a Satan's Hollow boardset thinking it was Spy Hunter. When I plug it in to my Spy Hunter cabinet, the attract mode plays properly. It would be nice to plug it into a real cab to verify it's working. Anyone nearby that can help? thanks!

Satan's Hollow PCB partially tested in Spy Hunter cab

I bought a PCB stack thinking it was Spy Hunter. I was super surprised when I plugged it in to my Spy Hunter cabinet to see Satan's Hollow come up. I had no idea that was possible. Of course I couldn't start a game, but I watched the attract mode animations and they all looked good to me...

Another source of cabinet swelling has been revealed

Wish I had gotten a vise a long time ago.

Vises are awesome. Just like the hakko gun, now that I've used one, I wish I had gotten one long ago. In the past, I've always found a way to rig something up when I needed 3 hands. Recently, I got this massive 6" vise at an auction with a bunch of other stuff essentially for free (actually...

One of these things is not like the other...

I noticed something odd when I had my screw horde out yesterday to make this thread: LINK Here are 3 brand new screws from the same order/bag...one of them is very different than the other. Will post the answer tonight so folks can guess if they like... Hint: It has nothing do do with the...

Replacing screws when restoring, how to find, measure, etc.

I frequently restore machines that have badly jacked screws: Rusted Mangled (I often see mangled slotted screws because people don't know how to properly work with them) Wrong head type (I frequently see phillips when slotted is original) Wring head shape (commonly see round and flat head used...

Interesting notes or repair tags found inside games

Sometimes I find weird repair logs or notes inside my games. Here is an example of one I found inside one of the horde of Ice Cold Beer machines I once bought as a package. Fireplace? Is that the name of the arcade? Or did the guys stick it inside his fireplace? No wonder the ball got stuck...

Massive rust removal in 24 hours for less than $1 (game changer)

I collect a lot of much older machines (1930s, 1940s, etc) that have a lot of metal parts, and are often quite deeply rusted. My go-to rust removal method for a long time has been EvapoRust. Love that stuff, it works immensely better than vinegar. For quite large parts, though, I've had to...

Restoration of a Silver King Buffalo Hunter penny shooter (1940s)

I recently picked up a Silver King Buffalo Hunter penny shooter. This game has a very similar cabinet and gun to the much more common Duck Hunter game (LINK). I'd say the Buffalo Hunter is about 10x rarer, possibly more. I see tons of Duck Hunters, but rarely see a Buffalo Hunter. This game...

    Can anyone identify these clamps

I picked these up in Coin Op Amusement (Ben) warehouse clearance auction along with a huge pile of other tools. Each one appears to be 2 normal bar clamps permanently connected together in a device that lets the two bar clamps swivel closer or further apart. I will probably be rest them and...
