I'm running MAME 214 in my cabinets...is it worth upgrading anymore?

I have 5 MAME cabinets total. 1 vertical, 2 horizontal and 1 Cafe ( 2 sided). Everything I have works good in MAME 214, but apparently things have changed with sounds and maybe other aspects that are more accurate but I only run the old classics...no fighting, adult based, or stuff like that...

FS Parts: Hantarex monitor for sale. Good working condition

I have a dirty, but very serviceable Hantarex model number 02-90086 for sale. It came out of a working, thoroughly beat up Galaxian cabinet I restored and MAME'd. I was going to use it, but decided to just stick with an LCD screen for safety with grandkids. I don't know or care what it's...

The making of "The Quest for Space Knife"

Being a huge fan of Stranger Things and knowing this cabinet and game didn't exist, other than a fun tribute to someone that worked on the show, I decided it would make a really cool wedding gift for my daughter and son-in-law who love my arcade machines, both the real and MAME cabinets I own...

Easy-Off oven cleaner great for paint stripping cabinets.

I know I sound nuts here...but this is the 2nd time I am having to strip a cabinet from that typical thick black goo paint many of these old cabinets are covered with when they're converted into other games... And wow does it work!! I tried using regular paint stripper, coat after coat of the...

Midway plastic u-channel for glass edge?

Hi. I've been looking for years for this stuff or at least some form of replacement. Anyone have any idea what they used, or if I can source a good replacement somewhere? I'm reworking a Galaxian cabinet now and I need it, along with my Gorf cabinet that is missing the right side. I used...

Looking for BerZerk or Frenzy metal control panel specs

Hi. I'm looking to restore my now 21 year old MAMEd BerZerk cabinet. The original cabinet was a disaster required extensive work, but 20 years later, I see where I'd like to bring it back even further to the original design. Is anyone making the panel enymoe, had one to sell or at least...

Need help with Galaga cabinet build plans

HI. For my next project I am looking at building "Space Knife" from Stranger Things and make it into a working MAME cabinet. So I need to either source a Galaga cabinet, or build one. I've found two sets of plans, one of which has no individual part dimension, the other the cabinet dims...

Up N Down background graphics are a mess.

I believe I may have posted this a while back. I finally got around to buying a CGA to VGA converter board to test my PCB. It's definitely the PCB. I have the same results on an LCD monitor. Not sure where to even begin troubleshooting this issue as my knowledge is very basic when it comes...

Looking for black plastic edging for Gorf cabinet bezels (glass and plastic).

Hi. I'm very near completing a "back from the dead" restoration/conversion of a classic Gorf cabinet I bought from Coinop Warehouse in Maryland. The unit was cut into, converted to a Jamma Neo-Geo fighter, painted in thick, black paint and whatever was metal on the coin door, bashed/rusted...

    Hello from Long Island, NY.

Long time non-active member, shows 2021 in my profile, but I remember joining this website almost 20 years ago when I was working on my MAME BerZerk cabinet. Just wanted to say hello, and I hope I can be a help with building, configuring, designing...etc as I love these old cabinets! I've...
