  • Hello,
Gumby here, just curious to know if your repairs are a case by case basis or flat rate. I just picked up a Joust board set, just the mpu, widget board, and rom board. I put it in my defender cab, wired the different +5 and got nothing. Not sure if it's me or the board. Can you give a ball park quote? Thanks,
a local buddy Brett Fencl told me to contact you in hopes of scoring a robotron original power supply...do you have any an if so any for sale.... I got a robo from him and it has a switching....I would like an original...he gave me your name....thanks!

I was repairing my broken socket 35 on my Rev c Robotron board, I could use your advice or maybe your services if the job is beyond my skill. I had a broken socket, the game was working before if I added a little solder to the rams legs to make contact. It was a simple fix that I wanted to properly correct by replacing the broken socket. when I removed the socket, I lifted two traces. I'm getting the multi color static screen and a red screen and it cycles. On the second try I was getting errors with random chips from bank 3. (35 is the issue) I've tried to resolder the traces back to the board and put a new 14 pin socket on I get the same problems. Let me know what I should do I've tried to fix it 4 times now. Or maybe I should send it to you to fix the screw up I made.

    Hey Ken,

The System 11 CPU board in my High Speed it totally fried. Do you have any working used CPU boards for sale that would work for me?

    Thanks,
    Matt
Robotron jon told me to pm you. I found a Stargate, Robotron, Joust, Splat, Sinistar board in some stuff I bought. I offered it up last night over on AHA for $25 shipped to anybody that could use it. Untested, obviously not working. I can email you the pictures if you'd like.

    Hi Ken,
I'm not entirely sure of the etiquette here about contacting members and asking questions by messaging so if I've transgressed my apologies! You were very helpful in a post I started about trying to fix my Defender machine last year. I got the boards repaired and after a series of further problems with the monitor and the controller the game was working but reporting an error on ROM 6 and occasionally getting stuck in bookkeeping. After a week or so of playing it is now permanently stuck in book keeping. I got a replacement ROM 6 but it still has the same problem. Measuring the voltages going into the ROM board gives a voltage of 4.9 but 4.7 at the ROM. Is this on the edge of acceptability for correct ROM function?
I've ordered a board from jrok and a wiring harness from wldfire. It's my intention to play using these but I'd like to have the original boards working in case I want to sell in future (I like to spin the fiction for my wife - no way am I selling..)

    Ken,

Just listed Williams RAM PCB's on KLOV... Wanted to draw you attention to the post...

    Thanks,
    Christian
    hi There,

i understand you are one of the grand masters of Williams games so I wanted to ask your advice on sourcing Williams Blaster PCB's. I know they are very hard to find and I am constantly scanning the usual eBay and CL sales, and I understand they do share some boards with other cabs such as Joust and Sinistar.

I'm dead set on the challenge of assembling an original set, because, well that's the whole point of the hobby don't you think? Anyone can go get a Jamma board or a Williams multi-board, where's the fun in that?

Anyway, I'm a new collector with a lot to learn, so I'm hoping I can meet some new people with lots of knowledge that I can turn to as mentors to help me learn and explore something I have dreamed about since I was a child - building up my own collection of my most favorite games.

    Sincerely

    Joel
How's it going? I just happened to see that you are in The Houston area. I am just getting into the hobby and thought it would be cool to make some local contacts. I'm in Spring.

    Thanks
    Joe

I have one of the small lcds that you sold. It belongs to mrsalvage and he asked me to wire it up for him. Do you have any info or a link to the thread where I can find this?
