I'm surprised this topic wasn't more prevalent on this forum. As I have been informed many times in my career this stuff is "freaking magic". This was the only thread I could find.
After dealing with a Galaga recently in which someone had started sanding the IC chip pins years ago (and now...
*SIGH*.... Don't get me started... I was in that very same garage today (not the sellers fault, he was a great guy).
I had called to pickup some monitors that morning and was driving when the ad got posted for the cabinets... so I missed it likely be seconds.
When I arrived and asked about...
Looking for a Joust and/or Robotron to add to my Defender who is sitting all lonely by itself lol.
Would prefer a project to enjoy fixing but at this point I'm open to anything (after looking all these years, I'm at six total now and never found either) so even a fully restored will do.
Prefer...
G07 has jumper near the back of the main board to shift the entire image. Just have a look near the back and you'll see wire spades sticking up and a wire on one of them. They are all labelled. That will shift it some, might help. V. Cent and H. Cent.
Horizontal size can be adjusted with...
Yep, can't agree more with Mecha and others. My big issue of over 6 years was finally fixed by simply replacing the power connector at the main board (and harness connector). Solved my "wave" in my monitor (flakey ground likely).
My Galaga is the same way, every few months just take every...
Williams 7641 Decoder Roms - Replacements, Pinouts and Programming
This was an old message I posted to usenet back in 1996. Thought I might as well bring it here in case anyone needs the info:

Well what do you know... it only took 6 years to get around to it but the fix is in!
(Time for all the old-timers to *sigh* along with me)... it was an IDC connector!
Never got around to replacing them on my own machine (always do it on other peoples lol) and sure enough with the wife watching...
Well gave it a good check over with the BK 490 and sure enough the blue and green gun were getting "tired". Clean and balance didn't fully bring them back but a rejuv cycle bought the meters back into more acceptable levels and the Life test passed (with tracking).
Afterwards the green is...
I agree on the tube test, just rather "Baffled" how an electron gun can change colour... lol.
Especially with all the other colours in the text pattern looking good. Very weird. TPG is on it's way so will know 100% once it arrives.
Cheers
Tim
EDIT: Only thing I can think of is the...
Really delayed update to this but I finally got around to beating this with a stick again. I had just performed the 4164 mod and figured I'd work on the hula issue.
Sure enough, now the "hula" was crazy and all over the map so I knew something had changed. She has been sitting for a few years...
Defender - G07 - Green signal is rather yellow tinted
Working on cleaning up my Defender and one of the issues is with my green colour on my G07 monitor.
The Green signal is coming up with quite a yellow tint to it. This shows up in solid test patterns and in colour bars.
In the colour bars...
Well I replaced the 723 on the +12v side, the rail is stronger now but still gets a little hulu.
I think (as per other thread) that I've narrowed it down to a grounding issue, not 100% sure but it cleared up almost totally once I ran a temporary ground to connect the power supply to the sound...
Williams Defender - Is power supply ground plate connected?
I just noticed in my Defender that the power supply ground plate (the big huge plate under the power supply) is not connected to any of the other ground plates via the ground strapping. Mine had been messed with previously before I...
