Agreed, the initial arcade crash of 1984 was clearly not due to consoles as the console market crashed just before that.
I think the both were just due to a ton of low quality games. The NES rebuilt both markets in 1985.
Personally, I can remember just becoming bored and not playing games...
The Ps1 is what killed the arcades. Was it Sony's fault or Nintendo's can be debated, but the fact is, the PS1 was the first system ever to be as powerful or more powerful than the arcade.
This trend actually continued with the Dreamcast (I guess we can blame Sega now). The Dreamcast version of...
I managed to lift the marquee out with the bars still in place. Now I can see everything, but I still can't figure out what the key is supposed to do, nor can I get the supports to remove or flip out of the way. I'll have to look at it again tonight.
For some reason, the bottom support appears...
I have a generic red laminate cab I want to paint blue. Except for some very small scratches, it is in good shape. I was planning to use a roller, just to avoid overspray in my garage. I was going to use latex, but most here say to use enamel. What are the advantages to each? I was planning on...
I'm figuring it's the top bar that removes somehow. I just don't know if it slides up or what. I've tried moving it, but it's not budging. I can't see the bottom of the lock, but I've drilled through it, so it shouldn't be causing a problem.
It's exactly like this:

I didn't see any screws on top, but I can look again when I get home.
I'm thinking this is the reason it had the wrong Marquee on it when I bought it (Raiden PCB with Vigilante marquee).
I was hoping for some...
I have a generic Z-back cab and cannot figure out how to remove the marquee. There is a lock on top, which I don't have the key for and have drilled out. Does this lock hold the marquee in place? How does it remove once it is unlocked? (i.e. does it slide up, pull off, etc)?
It's a full wrap (small panels). I'll just clean it up and paint it.
I think it was powder coated black originally. I'm wondering if white would make the colors any brighter? I ordered the CPOs from MAMEMarquees though, so they should be thick enough to not show through.
I am restoring a Centipede cocktail and have ordered new CPOs.
I was just wondering how most people here treat the metal under the overlay?
Do you usually prime and paint it before applying the CPO? I am assuming rustoleum or sometihng is sufficient.
I have a local mailbox place that I get all of my packages delivered to. They close at 5:00 for some reason, so I can't get my packages until the weekend sometimes, but it's nice to aways have someone sign for my packages and to know they're secure.
