  1. k5501 - Where's the Live and Neutral?

Really? It doesn't matter? I thought plugging the L into the N and vice versa would be like plugging a positive into a negative or that sort of thing. I do have an iso transformer, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing up polarity or anything like that. Is that just a WG sort of...
  2. k5501 - Where's the Live and Neutral?

Trying to install a new monitor into a cab... but I'm having trouble with the chassis. The "L" and "N" aren't labeled on the chassis. I looked up some schematics for a similar chassis, and it didn't label them either. I looked up another schematic for another WG monitor, and it said the "L"...
  3. k5501 - Where's the Live and Neutral?

    Sorry, double post.
  4. No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem?

I just tested the continuity, and it is getting continuity from the JAMMA harness to the chassis. So... that ain't the problem. Anyone happen to have a cap kit list for a WG 5500? I might just have to see if I can make a cap kit at Radio Shack or something.
  5. No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem?

Here's the best pics I could get. I'll try removing the monitor board soon.
  6. No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem?

I'll see if I can get some pictures and I'll see what I can do about testing the wire, but I do know it's not SF2. I've already played two other games in this same cab and they have the exact same problem.
  7. No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem?

How exactly do I test the pot on the neckboard? Or replace it for that matter? I couldn't find any info online. I had thought about a cap kit, but I was hoping to get this working (even if temporarily) within about two weeks for an event. I just don't have much faith in getting a cap kit within...
  8. No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem?

No red - but monitor can still display red! What's the problem? I didn't want to put this in the monitor section because I honestly don't think this is a problem with the monitor, but it has to do with display so I guess I should put it here. Here is the screen with the red drive at normal...
  9. JVS Naomi: World Series Baseball to six-button?

Right, I know that. I was figuring I'd use the current power supply in the cab that is powering everything as it is, and I suppose run a secondary power supply just to power the I/O. I mean, that's what I need, the extra buttons. Finding kick harnesses for CPS2 and JAMMA connectors is easy...
  10. JVS Naomi: World Series Baseball to six-button?

I have a Capcom I/O - would I be able to install that into my cab? I was originally planning that, but a friend told me that the Capcom I/O was only for making a JAMMA cab accept JVS, not the other way around.
  11. JVS Naomi: World Series Baseball to six-button?

Okay, so I picked up a World Series Baseball cab with GD Rom and all that good stuff already set up. It's pretty much perfect for what I paid for it, however the controls are analog rather than digital and I need some more buttons for it. I've got GGXX Accent Core, which is really a five button...
  12. How modular are drivers/racers?

I still haven't got a driving cabinet yet, but I would really like one. Only thing that has stopped me thus far is that I've heard these machines don't do JAMMA due to the steering wheel and what not. While I would like a racer, I like how with my other cabinets I can just swap boards in and...
  13. How clues in games tell its history..

I bought a Lucky & Wild which was filled with tokens from some arcade in California. Can't remember the full name, although I know it was "Castle ____." I thought this was pretty amusing, considering I live in SC and that means this machines has been from one side of the country to the other.
  14. Building an Arcade Building

I'm using Google SketchUp right now to do this very thing. Big thanks to Gozer.
  15. When do you stop?

I don't think ya ever stop. I've seen people forced to stop due to finances, spouses, family or other factors, but you know they don't want to stop. Their heart is still in it. I don't have room for any more machines, but I still window shop, and I will make room if I see a good enough deal...
