I've got a Smash TV for sale. It's in excellent shape and fully functional. I don't think I've seen another one in as good condition in the wild. I've got one too many machines in the house right now, and this one needs to go. I have it listed on Craigslist for $350, but I'll let it go to a...
I could go to $350 if someone is only interested in it as a Smash TV and I can keep the Neo Geo parts. I'd even do the CP rewiring (assuming I had a few days warning before pick-up).
I had a few requests for high-resolution pictures of the side art, so here are the links to those.
WARNING: Each pictures is about 1.5 MB

I've got a Smash TV that was converted into a Neo Geo for sale. The only conversion work was a replacement CP and marquee. I have the originals, and they're included in the sale. Swap out the marquee and rewire the CP and you'd have a Smash TV with original artwork intact if Neo Geo isn't...
My Joust shirt saved me from a secondary screening at the airport last week! The TSA dude started waving me toward the screening area until he saw my shirt. He said something along the lines of "man, that's a classic, I used to play that when I was kid", then waved me through the line. From...
Anybody with a half decent background in electronics and a copy of the schematic should be able to do board repair work. They might not know the most common points of failure like the old pros, but they could get the job done.
I think the bigger problem we'll be facing in the future is lack of...
If they aren't greased regularly the bearing can rust out. Even after cleaning and lubing, my original DK joystick was just too rusted out to be saved.
I was put off by the steep price of the repro stick as well, so I took a Nintendo VS joystick I had lying around and bought a new shaft and restrictor plate from Mike's instead. It was still pricey at $24, but way better than $60.
My repro DK ball from Mike's measures 30mm. The two VS joysticks I have are 28mm, so they're very close. Not sure how accurate the repro one is. The only reason I went with a repro is that the shafts on the VS sticks are too short for wooden CPs.
If I don't have to sand and repaint the cab or any of the metal bits they usually go pretty fast, especially if it's sitting around the house and not in storage.
