Whilst wrestling with a LOPT replacement, this white wire has become loose:
Does anyone know where it should go? The the other board is marked P447. The white wire connects to a pin marked G1 on the neck board's tube neck socket.
I’m trying to fit one of these for someone. He has a cab with two joysticks and six buttons each. It had some kind of Capcom thing in the past, and there are two JAMMA connectors on the loom.
I’m struggling to understand the Chinese manual. Since he isn’t going to use Player 3 & 4, should...
Oh no, that's just a photo of me. It's quite an old photo mind you, I was quite a ladies' man back in those days.
That was before the accident... I'm less handsome now.
The way I was taught to do it was as follows:
Get a very long screwdriver, and push the end against the frame.
Gently insert other screwdriver under the cap.

Obviously have the thing...
It's a generic cabinet, made in the UK.
It looks quite nice actually, you can't really see it in the picture, but the grey bits on the control panel are actually sparkly silver glitter. They did another one in orange instead of blue: http://i4.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/a5/d9/86c7_1.JPG

It has a Hantarex monitor and PSU. In the cash box, I found two little plastic knobs which must have come off potentiometers on the monitor.
I plan to take the monitor out and have a look at it, and then...
Re: Dumb newbie ? - Proper tinning of a soldering iron
It sounds as if you have a nasty soldering iron. When I was studying electronics at college, the lecturer said the only soldering irons worth having are ones made by Weller. They are Smurf blue in colour. Mine looks a bit like this...
I remember a game which had two horizontal monitors, side by side - or rather, the right hand one was actually a mirror. The second monitor was kind of mounted below to reflect into the mirror.
I think it was a left-to-right scrolling shoot 'm up, I thought it was R-Type.
Re: faulty RAM chip
Back to the subject of which RAM chip is faulty, in my experience if you feel the temperature of each chip with your finger, you may find that a faulty one will be much hotter than the others.
