The next thing I would do is make sure that ROM #7 and #10 are good. Just by reading the chips doesn't guarantee that they are. You need to get a good know chip to replace them. Maybe a little hard since it's the white label? (check with https://www.hobbyroms.com/) Also another thing that...
nice find. I was in Germany in the early 80's and I played Defender almost every day. Couldn't get onto Asteroids because the older kid were always on it. So I got really good on Defender.
As for your problem:
Your last picture shows the normal test patter (rug test). On the green set...
Yeah, those good old days are gone. Remember the IA actions? What a blast those were too. Towards the end of the auction no one had room for games anymore and they were going for around $50 a game. oh yeah the good old days.
yeah I know. I built about 10-12 multi games a year, for at least 10 years. At the time, I barley posted an ad on CL and they already sold. I even had a guy come down from Canada to buy one. Not any more, I wouldn't think of building any more. I don't see anyone else building them in my area...
SOLD now.
I also have a Xeltek PS2 that I'm using. The emp10 will work better on most older PCs. The PS2 uses an ISA card which is a little harder to install on newer PC. I don't need both anymore so it makes more sense selling the EMP10.
Selling my working EMP-10 programmer for $75 shipped in the US. It programs just about all the ROMs you will ever need for games of the 70's to late 90's. It is very reliable and never gave me a problem. It comes with all the modules, power plug, parallel cable, 3 1/2" floppy disk and...
Still have it. BTW, to TX it costs $115 for shipping plus packing fee of $35 via FedEx. If you find a cheaper way to ship let me know. I could take all the guts out and maybe save on shipping a little if interested.
John McCann in Altura, MN. I sold him an Anti-aircraft game many years ago. As I remember I had similar problems when I first acquired the game. Sorry, can't remember what I did to fix it. I'm sure I caped it and I also think I replaced the the trans. in the out put stage, not sure if that...
Bump
This will work in 19" vector games like Asteroids, Omega Race that use G05-802 or 801 and 19v2000 monitors. No burn in. It's still here if anyone wants it.
I had this TV for a while now thinking I was going to use the tube but it never happen. It's just sitting around, time to move it along. Free to whomever wants to pick it up or have it shipped. I'm guessing FedEx would be the cheapest ($70+?). I don't have any box to but it in, I would have...
I was able to get both the 2716 and 2732s to work on Defender decoders without any problems. The new Williams games didn't like the EEPROMs when I used them for the #6 Decoder (gave me RAM errors on start up but then worked sometimes). The #4 Decoder seems to work fine. If you need direct...
