Every Revolution X main board I've seen has had the top row of ROM chips "uncovered", as in no sticker covering the ROM window.
Shouldn't the ROM chip windows be covered to prevent accidental erasing?
The only reason I ask, is because about a month after I covered mine up with electrical...
haha yeah.. i've heard people say these are tough ones to troubleshoot!
I just wish mine would display anything on the screen! haha
So I'm guessing my component failure isn't a ROM, RAM, or some minor ADC (like the one which goes to the guns) as if any of those failed, the system should have...
Hey guys,
I've got a Revolution X main board I'm trying to fix. It was working fine a few months back but when I turned it on the other day, it wouldnt boot up. It doesn't play blind and displays nothing on the screen. I borrowed another main board and plugged it into my machine and everything...
According to the machine's manual, both speakers are connected in parallel. Can confirm when home later. Also, the manual says this is the speaker that's in there:

a 6" 8ohm speaker.
It's weird because when the machine first starts up...
Hhhmm.. so according to the wiring diagram, both speakers are actually connected in parallel to the same two wires from the board. (It must split off in parallel up by the speakers because I see only 2 wires running up to the speaker area) It's interesting because why does turning up the volume...
Midway / Revolution X sound board only 1 speaker working
Hey guys,
When I start up my Revolution X machine, I noticed there's some "whooshing" sound that comes out of the left speaker and once the machine is up, only the right speaker has sound coming out of it. If I put the game into test...
WTB Revolution X Cabinet (good condition dont need the boards)
Hey guys,
Im looking for a revolution x cab thats in good condition. (I.e. artwork intact and wood not busted up)
I don't need the boards or anything (though wouldn't complain about getting a spare!)... just want a good condition...
It's pretty big.
The main unit is:
Height (without marquee): 75" , Width: 47" , Depth: 35"
Height of the marquee: 20"
So total height of the machine with the marquee on would be: 95"
Then there is the little gun stand which sticks out about 2-3 feet in front and is like ~3ft tall.
The gun...
hahaha ok sooooo last call for saving the cab!!
Otherwise I'm going to have some "big burly men" break it up and will part it out..
Anybody interested in just the raw cab (includes the 52" TV but NO electronic parts or gun)? I'll give that out for FREE if anyone wants to save the cab..
Hhmmm what do you guys think about the image quality of that hp scanner? I see it's not rated very high on amazon. The one review that concerns me is the one which says "a lot of banding on blacks and grays" because my revolution x cab that I want to scan is all grays and blacks! Haha
I'm also...
What scanner should I use to scan side art? Any tips?
Hey guys,
After not being able to find any good Revolution X side art anywhere, I decided I want to try and scan the art off the good side of my cab.
Does anyone have any recommendations for scanners I should get to do this? (Brand /...
Anyone know where I can get side art for a 2-player Midway Revolution X machine? I'd love to do a full restore on mine but can't seem to find any NOS or place which sells reproduction. Anyone have any or know of any place to buy?
ah. I like your idea of soldering a socket in first that way the chip can be easily removed in the future. Do you think something like this would work?
