I've done a few monitor re-caps and have never seen the neck just go dead like that.... I was using my Weller solder station and flux, so the solder joints wouldn't be cold.
I just put a new flyback and cap kit into a G07 chassis. Now I've got no power going to the neck (no glow). All I have on the CRT is a 1" diameter Red/Green/yellow spot. Do I have a bad component on the PCB? Maybe the big blue power resistor? Anyone ever see this happen?
Can you tell me which wire it was? My Operation Wolf is doing the EXACT same thing that yours was doing....
I haven't had the mis-pleasure of buying a NOS gun for it or rebuilding the aux. power supply. I pulled the opto PCB out of the gun thinking that it is the culprit.
