How hard is it to repair a Pole Position board? I have fixed centipedes and other atari's. Is there much more to it? I heard Dig Dugs have three cpus, how would one fix them?
Is there anything to do about the Namco customs chip legs being brittle? Do you think if you clean them and tin them with solder that would help? What do you guys do the clean them and make them strong?
Does using an rgb to ntsc converter hinder making repairs to pcbs? Should one use an rgb monitor if they are repairing boards for someone else or is using a converter make no difference? I would like to buy a converter but do not want to make any mistakes in the display area when repairing boards.
I have a two Crystal Castles pcbs that do not save the high scores. It will save changes made in the test menu and the eeproms test "ok" testing them via the test option. Any ideas? Does Crystal Castles save high scores? I thought it saves the top 3?
I need Two of these and it looks like a 1n4007 will replace them. My question is that the A14F is a 2.5amp diode and the 1n4007 is a 1 amp. Will this be OK or if I put more amps into the 1n4007 will it burn up? If the fuses on my super breakout are 2.5amps from the transformer, does that mean...
The pcb for Venture Line's "Space Force" looks like the older Atari boards from the 70's. It even has the connector for the Cat Box. Does anyone know or can confirm that this board is indeed Atari? Thanks!
I have an atari Monte Carlo with a power supply number A035435-03. All other atari's I own have 36vac at this board but this one has 25vac. The diodes that rectify this 25vac are 2.5amps. Should I have 2.5amps out of each of the two lines for the 25vac? If not what should the amps be on each...
On my dedicated Millipede the sideart has a circle with a plus in it like it was used for alignment or something when the art was printed. It is located on the eye of the millipede. Does anyone else have this on their machine or was mine misprinted?
I think the revision number is the -01 or -02 after the board number that is etched into the board. The number I am talking about is six digits. For example I have a centipede board with 029251 written on it. I also have others like that too, but have the serial number tag also, but with a...
Anyone know what the meaning is of the number that is hand written on atari boards. It is from the factory and looks like they used sharpie pens? Is it a serial number or batch number or something? Just wondering!
Folks,i'm trying to make a dc power supply for the 22vdc and -22vdc voltages for atari boards. Anyone know how to do this without using an atari power supply. I would like to use a switching supply and make the power supply for these voltages. I know how to wire up stuff using schematics but...
