IF you need your Protel programed I can help.

Payphones are still being made today but mainly for the non-us market. The $300 for the phone NOS is pretty cheap as most start new over $1000 and Protel phones are work horses. The Protel payphones I have pictured above in my previous post costed over $1500 per phone.

Drilling will work, just takes a very long time. I have done a few in the past and it took a few days. Make sure you use drilling oil.

The phone will work via VOIP but you will need a standard phone line to have the programmed via the PNM server. Programming any payphone over VOIP will not work.

Do you have a photo of the inside. It is preferred the board has the red reset button on top. If not it's more of a pain to program. I have the capabilities to program these phones but I have never tested as I do not have any Elcotel phones (only Protel).

The last firmware sent out by Protel was DD (early 2000s I think). I am sure if Payphone.com programmed your phone then you should have DD firmware. On your phones keypad press *#62 and it will let you know what firmware you have.

If you ever need your programming or firmware updated on your Protel Payphone please let me know. I don't charge KLOV members for support.

Forgot to add. If you are looking for another site for payphone parts try http://tullc.us/ The site is not the best. I have worked with them in the past and they do most of there business over the phone. I usually send my smart boards to them for repair and never had an issue.

CueBall, We need to get back in touch and work on the Elcotel phones again. With the holidays coming up I will have a lot more free time to help you out. The Elcotel PNM software is so much more of a pain then Protel Expressnet.
