If Krajkerjac is still around and wants to do a run of any of his previous posters I'm in for one of each.
For some reason I went inactive here right around the time reproduction posters started getting produced. I'll attempt to remain more active here now.
MKII was definitely the best playing of Mortal Kombat games. It also was the last arcade MK that retained the kung-fu movie look with somewhat oriental environments. MK3 went for a fully western motif and lost the charm of the earlier games (IMO).
If you're really looking for nostalgia...
All I have is one of those multi-game Extreme Arcade things from Sears. Does that count? Probably not. I'm not so much an arcade purist, but I love the idea of owning actual arcade games.
Re: Which would you rather have, Mario Bros or Popeye?
Mario Bros. No question about it. Great gameplay and co-op if you have a friend into arcade games.
Its just not as fun to constantly run away from Bluto trying to catch hearts or whatever is thrown down at you. I don't even think you...
Good game for the time. Or maybe it was because I was 11 years old when it came out. And then of course I got a Sega Genesis with the game as a pack-in and stopped putting quarters into the arcade version. Everything that I could say about the game has been covered, but Altered Beast remains...
I'm terrible at most arcade games. There's only one game I could beat in the arcade without continuing and that was because I played it a lot more than others (Namco's Assault).
High scores? Sure I can make the high score list, but only if I'm playing the game at home.
Re: I discovered MAME tonight. Dedicated cabs FTW!!!!!
I love MAME. I always wanted to play arcade games at home similarly to how they looked and sounded in the arcade and these days I can. I also don't care for too many arcade cabinet designs unless they are really unique looking. Like...
My love for old games usually depends directly upon whether or not I was good at them when they were first out. Defender, Donkey Kong, and a couple of others I don't cherish all too much because they were (and are) still difficult games.
