I bought a Peter Chou switching PSU to replace the power board in my Gorf cab, but am not 100% sure on converting from the original 19 pin wire harness to the switcher. If anyone has experience with converting a Gorf (or any cab, really) to a switching PSU and could verify the below listed...
I personally like a product called "DeoxIT". Comes in all sorts of packaging (pen applicator, wipes, spray cans) and works great. Plus, no bits of glass floating around causing havoc.
I'm thinking a broken change machine isn't helping his profits any, either. People tend to not play games too much when they have to bring their own quarters with them-if they can drop a $5 into a machine, then they'll likley play most of that.
The voltages are definately way off coming off the main transformer, so going to get that replaced and get some boards to swap around and see if I can get this puppy up and running.
Reasonably sure at this point that I have a bad Pattern Transfer board (A082-91355-C000), but definately not ruling out other boards being bad once I get that replaced. A known working set would be ideal, but I'd consider unknown sets just to be able to swap them around a bit to see if I can get...
I picked up a Gorf cabinet off of Ebay-seller listed it as non-working with some water damage. From what I can see, the majority of the damage appears to be external, with just a bit of rust on the service cut-off switch and some water damage to the transformer body. Side art is pretty hosed...
