Something different: A politician who respects/enjoys arcade games
In recent years, politicians and arcade games have been unhappy bedfellows.
Just this year, Beacon NY and Oklahoma have appeared in the news as places where politics 'n' arcades have not mixed well.
But here's a feel-good...
Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
@Bradd, ooh, thanks. Fixed that.
Oh, I've now got something pretty cool to give away.
A "baby Galaga" cab - suitable to sit on your desk or monitor...
...and Phil has signed it.
Here's the link for the giveaway page. :)
"Fighter Captured" - the fight for the world Galaga record
I'm sure many Klov members will have seen King of Kong.
Recently, there was some movement in the world record for Galaga,
and I think you'll enjoy reading the story of Phil Day, who was hoping to become No. 1.
It's not a short...
Hmm, sounds familiar... ;)
I made my prototype in GM5.3, but I'm now at the stage of deciding
whether to move it to GM7... or wait & develop it in GM8.
I suppose I can keep working on graphics/sound/logic in the meantime,
then get back to coding later.
Yes, ditto.
Thanks Hyde! :)
Yes, promise to show you some more stuff once I've got some nice
vehicles & baddies to show off.
So, what language/system are you programming your shmup with?

Started developing this freeware fan tribute for PC 3...
Thanks.

but it's not as "clean" as purely quadrupling the...

Hmm, hope there aren't too many "Billy" fans here. ;)
In less than 4 hours, Steve Wiebe will attempt to smash Billy Mitchell's current Donkey Kong record, at E3.
I'm firmly on the "team Wiebe" side - and have...
He had some nice games in the collection (R360, Crazy Taxi, Ms Pac, DK, etc)
but also some real shockers.
I blogged about MJ's 6 worst arcade machines yesterday. ;)
I've only played F-355 once (just 6 months ago - in New Zealand).
Wow - what an - (I'm struggling for the right words) "un-arcadey feeling" arcade game.
It kind of reminded me of the old "Test Drive" on the Commodore 64,
mixed with a bit of Hard Drivin.
But you could definitely feel a real...
Let's have a standing ovation, for arcade gaming's "Jerry Bruckheimer"...
If Shigeru Miyamoto is gaming's equivalent of Walt Disney,
then Yu Suzuki is surely gaming's Jerry Bruckheimer.
He was responsible for those big, loud fun Sega hits in the arcade in the 1980s, like AfterBurner II and...
