Have you made sure the CF is getting power? The IDE pinout doesn't supply power like the games that used the laptop drives. Apologies in advance if that's too obvious, but I sometimes miss the obvious things. I'm not sure what else could be wrong. Good luck!

Just adding to what ballytablewiz said above -- the links to the other modded Taito roms are on this page: http://arcadecollecting.com/info/ I'm not sure if the sound board mods are needed for all of them, but it's worth a shot.
