hello there
i picked up a couple old Tandy CM-5 RGB monitors in hopes that they'd be suitable to display standard res games. i'm currently trying to get street fighter I working.
i've managed to wire the thing up and i get everything synch'd, but i don't seem to be getting all the colours i...
i've continued to fiddle and test and i am happy to report that i have made some progress.
i decided to connect a microswitch to the coin1 and ground wires that were previously connected to a little black box that was an interface for the coin mechanism.
i connected the pc speaker and taped up...
oh hello. i thought for sure that this thread was dead.
i completely unhooked those wires from the PS. they aren't connected to anything at all anymore.
this cabinet came with the jamma board already installed and from what i could tell at the time it was working except for the video.
i used...
hello
i'm not sure if this is of interest to anyone here, but i purchased one of these http://x-arcade.com/mame-arcade-stick.shtml for a supergun i'm building.
its a pretty decent layout and it will save me the trouble of building my own control panel.
for $20 plus shipping its not so bad.
back in the day when we were doing this we were always scared someone would find out. we weren't sure if anyone really knew what we were up to though.
i can't imagine its easy to recognize a quarter with some tape on it in a huge pile of ordinary quarters. and i don't think anyone verified...
Sadly, when i was younger i didn't have nearly enough money to support my video game addiction. To remedy this situation my friends and i resorted to something we used to call 'stringing'.
i'm just curious to know if anyone ever found quarters with little pieces of tape on them while emptying...
well it looks like i'm not going to get any satisfaction anytime soon.
i hooked up the video converter to see if i was at least getting video, but once again i got nothing. the converter was getting the right voltage because it lit up, but i didn't get any picture whatsoever.
i have a feeling...
i've tried to read over those pages. really i have, but the simple truth is that its like that stuff is written in another language for me. i can't understand it. unfortunately for me, i only understand english, french and unix system administration. i'd need a step by step guide and any theory...
i didn't cut too many wires. i took more of a disconnect approach and saved most of the stuff to re-use. i really should have kept the speaker. now its going to be a guessing game. i can't find too much information on this original street fighter board. i know there is a guy on here who lives...
i had a feeling this was the place to get some good quality help. i really appreciate it.
don't worry about missing pictures. i will fix that right away. i'll take pictures of whatever you want to see. so here is what the cabinet looks like without its top (i did keep the marquee btw)...
i was hoping to find a group of arcade game enthusiasts in the toronto area and get some help and play some games and maybe swap some games and the like. i know i'd be more than willing to help people in my area of expertise, but if i can only find someone who wants to get paid so be it.
i have...
