I used to be on the fence about installing LEDs in games that came with incandescent bulbs. After doing pin repair commercially for the last couple years and operating pins on location, I'm no longer. There are a bunch of reasons to swap over to LEDs.

Ken Layton (RIP) was an unbelievable asset to be able to reach out too. He would readily respond and give detailed answers to some troubleshooting efforts I was working on. Still use his name in the search engine when looking for info.
Shorting the guns is easy enough. K on the neck stands for cathode. So you should see RK, GK, BK. You momentarily short out the cathode of the color in question with ground. Screen will fire that color.
