Hi everyone,
My Dad has an Arctic Thunder by Midway that he is looking to get going again after many year. It is the standard model with the 27" monitor. It stopped being used as the computer developed a no boot up issue. He started by changing the keep-alive battery and reseated all of the...
Thank you for the kind words! It was a really fun project and I enjoyed it. As always I learned a few things I could do better on the next one but I am happy with it. A lot of tips and tricks I learned from reading here! This one I tried to make it look somewhat OEM to the average joe and I...
It's in one piece and ready to play! I will have to borrow a degaussing coil to clean up the picture a little bit however it all went together well. When I purchased the monitor the coil on the back of the monitor (thanks Justin for telling me the correct name) was about an inch away from the...
Thank you sir! I did a quick look thru a bunch of links but didn't find pictures inside. That'll be a cold day project to try and dig around and see what I can find 😊. Thanks for checking it out tho!
The chrome on the coin door was a little tired so it was polished up using soapy water and tinfoil to remove the oxidate once the adhesive from the tape over one of the coin slots was removed
The lower vent/speaker cover was also dinged in and looked to have been pried out with a screwdriver...
A few weeks back on a rainy day my Dad and I sat down and recapped it as he had done them before, this was my first time doing it
My connectors arrived so we cripped it together and we have life! I've never set up a monitor before so I will have to do some reading on here to see how to get...
That's exactly it, don't want to damage the bottom edge of the cabinet. All 4 feet were present but the shaft had broken off from the foot so they were flopping all round. With new parts already in the shelf it seemed like a no brainer. Also saves having to tip the machine again later on
With the fan riveted back together I gave my old man a hand and we tipped it on it's side to reinstall the fan. When we tipped it I realized a couple of the feet were broken and I said wait a second, I have a set of spares from my Z-back build. Went home and grabbed them and brought them back so...
Thank you! Congratulations on your first cocktail as well! I will say after playing this one a bit I really enjoy the cocktail layout, it feels more social than 2 players at a cabinet I think
Not sure if I will come home with another next week like you, but weirder things have happened😂
Last night my Dad took apart the fan and was able to get it working again. It appears someone had sprayed some kind of lubricant in it at some point and it turned to a sticky tar like substance. He removed the shrouding and disassembled the fan, cleaned all the old lubricant out, and put a...
Thank you Dan, I haven't seen any other pop up around here within about a 3 or 4 hour radius of us for a long time. My area really doesn't have a lot of population compared to the big cities so that could be why
That's funny you mentioned that as I did message the guy this morning to double check the name. He believes it was from Country Side Donuts which used to be in Windsor on Drouillard road. I plan to poke around on the historic/past pages on Facebook to see if I can find anything about it. Finding...
Thank you Gumby! It should be a fun project for both my Dad and I. He rebuild 2 of his 3 pins that he has, a 1972 William's Fan-Tas-tic and a 1976 Bally Freedom so we have dabbled in this sort of thing before
