Tube swapping a 25" wells gardener chassis/monitor combo.

for posterity, the horizontal pair should be relatively low ohms, somewhere between 1-2 ohm, and vertical pair I think is between 7-8 ohm. also splicing yoke wires is silly. you can buy the correct pins and plugs from APAR, permitting you know how to crimp. don't be this person:

    Pac-Man Composite Negative Sync Issue - K4900

Pac-Man uses negative composite sync. traditionally, since much of them came with G07s, the 3 pin sync plug will have a wire bridge between pin 9 negative vertical sync and pin 10 negative horizontal sync. as you can see, someone cut out the pin 9 bridge wire. the instructions you're referring...

    Who Here Fixes Ms Pacs

I'm in the Pinball Repair group on Facebook. as probably everyone should know, pinball is a rich man's game, and at the beginning of the year when I had one of those Rottendog MPU327-04's crap out in Firepower at work I got to thinking about this. one of those costs $500 new, and in the event it...

    WG K5515 intermittent HV Shutdown

I have seen the solder to the legs of the voltage regulator socket crack. I would do both that and the HOT one. also overlooked is the B+ jumpers along the edge. probably this weekend I'll get around to my new tutorial video.

Solved (I think) - Sinistar Freezes During Title Screen and Gameplay

you're be amazed at the things you find in barn stored games. like almost every one I worked on in Texas had some kind of chemicals and contaminants and overall shit and rust and whatever in them.

Solved (I think) - Sinistar Freezes During Title Screen and Gameplay

I've seen that before now that I remember. there was a period in 2020-2021 that a lot of my pictures weren't saved though, so I might not have evidence.

don't bother with 74153s. that's going to do with address bus, which the game runs, so it's not there. your ram error 21 or 22 could suggest something may be amiss with 3H 74373 (assuming this is an original Rev. D MPU; otherwise it will be a 74374 part) logic probing inside the game will be...

Solved (I think) - Sinistar Freezes During Title Screen and Gameplay

work Sinistar was pretty sick. worth noting it and Joust were the only games not running JROK. when I came back to work here they were running on Arcadeshop switching power supplies and were a nuisance almost every day resetting CMOS. so I fixed the linear power supplies. also, don't reflow...

PP2 CPU board (Atari) boot issue

FPGA catbox will work well with these because the Z80 section needs to function in order for the Z8002's to "wake up". the 3E and 3F rams are on the video board that I remember. you'll be highly confused looking on CPU board and finding those are one of the sub CPU rom sections like I was. :)...
