My neighbor picked up a working Pheonix (in good shape) at our local Goodwill for $40. I was shocked...didn't know they'd ever have anything like that.
According to the Klax pcb schematic and manual, if you take out R102 you can then put a <100 Ohm resistor (or just a wire) at the open R105 position and shift the image to the RIGHT, or do the same at R103 to shift the image to the LEFT. But I'm guessing this shifts by a fixed amount.
I have...
Here's a pic of my cab. At this point I had just finished all the woodwork and put new vinyl on the front sides, and t-molding.
I have it more put together now, but will have to take some more pix.
This is a Stern cab. I have no idea what game was in there before because it was thoroughly...
I am fixing up a Tetris and I also put in a double jamma switcher and a Klax board. It works great but I have one issue.
I can not center both games horizontally. If I center Tetris, then Klax is just a little too far off the right of the screen, and if I center Klax, Tetris is too far left...
Hey man, Game On Grafix has repro Tetris sideart, bezel, CPO and marquees if you can't find NOS. They even do custom sizes if you have a weird cab. I'm going to take measurements and place my order tomorrow! Cheers.
Yeah that shape is *very* close, but it is definitely a Stern cab, looking at the speaker placement and the coin door (these don't match the pictures of Thief that I found).
Anybody have any idea of the monitor type?
Yeah, looks like it is a generic Stern cab, as I found multiple games with that big red STERN logo across the side. Definitely nothing I'd want to restore. There is nothing original left except maybe the CRT, and that has been cut out and rotated horizontal.
The perfectionist in me really...
It might be Armored Car. There are some pix on the web with a giant STERN logo going down the side in RED. There are a couple of scratches on the left side paint showing red underneath the black. So unless that was a generic side art that Stern used...
Here are the pix...any help in ID'ing the cabinet (and Monitor too!) much appreciated. The paint job on the sides is awful, and the monitor bezel is missing, but otherwise very solid.
