Taito Alpine Ski - dead controls

Ok, now I seemed to have run into a dead end. Anyone else have an issue like this and can point me in the right direction? The signals seem to be getting to the Data Bus (output IC25 seems good), but at that point I seem to be lost on where the end up. :(

Taito Alpine Ski - dead controls

Hello, thank you for the extra set of eyes. Yea, I am not sure that is the same, but it is the only one. Well, I have already checked IC25 (that was my first guess) and it seems good (checked with logic probe in circuit). IC3 is left and right and IC5 is forward. I guess the next step is to...

Taito Alpine Ski - dead controls

Hi, I am working on an Alpine Ski and having an issue with figuring out where in the schematics the input bus goes from the game board schematic page 3 of 6. It is labelled as: (B1) (2-B5). Now I am making the assumption that this translates to Board 1 (I also assume CPU board), Sheet 2, Grid...

    U5000 B+ at 180vdc

Ok, here is where I am: HOT removed 75W bulb lit B+ 117.2V (without bulb 182v) Q708: 8.9V @ base, 115.6V @ collector, 8.56V @ emitter Z702 checks ok on diode test U701: 8.5V @ pin 10, 0v @ pin 20 So I seem to be missing +15V source - or is this normal since the HOT is out and the flyback is...

    U5000 B+ at 180vdc

Ok, I got back to working on this: Found R765 bad - replaced de-solder Pin 13 shutdown pin - no change When powered on I get a high pitch sound B+ still at 188V HOT tests ok Possibly flyback??

    Namaco Burgertime vertical sync issues

I have a Burgertime that is giving me some grief with the vertical not syncing. Monitor works fine in other games, so I have ruled that part out. Replaced C2, C4 and C21 with no change Tested the 555 timer along with the IC's in the -ve sync path If using the combined sync signal the picture...

    Data East Burgertime image issues

Looks like the 2 74LS163 at 5B and 6B are testing bad. Will have to wait till I get some more in as I seem to be out of those ones. That being said, does anyone have a clean/clear copy of the schematic? I the ones I did find are hard to read. ;)

    Data East Burgertime image issues

Working on a Burgertime that has problem with the image. The best way to describe it is it is like there is a darker contrast bar that is "rolling" across the screen - like the black level is rolling. The monitor works fine with another video source (WG4900 series). Almost like there is...

    Star Wars distorted image

Just to update - the distortion was due to R607 changed in value - was measuring out at a few k ohms vs the 390ohms it was suppose to be. I also changed R707 as well as it had drifted a bit.

Deflection board: P314 - swapped with same. I should note that this board had some wavyness midscreen (roughly 2 lines of text) - however the text distortion is nonexistant. Both boards do this (wavyness). HV board: P316 Transistors are: 2N3792 (x3) and 2N3716 (x3)

    Star Wars distorted image

Re: HV No it has not been fixed - my post is what I have done to date Re: distortion I know the previous owner replaced the transistors on the frame (monitor was dead) - this did not solve the problem. A broken wire was the cause of this. The big power resistors I would assume are original...

    Star Wars distorted image

Ok, Problem #1: HV too low HV measures between 15-18kv (15.3-18.4kv to be exact) ZD902 replaced - used Z4KE150A-E3/54 ZD900/Z901 replaced - used 1N4743A Caps/resistors done as per 6100 FAQ 555 time also replaced Problem #2: distortion as above This seems to be limited to the deflection board...

    Star Wars distorted image

Not sure if this is a monitor issue or not - anyone have suggestions? What I have done: WG6100 - caps replaced as per the FAQ, transistors, resistors and diodes verified. B+ pot replaced as the original was bad - seems like I have to nearly max out the pot (CW) though to get 180V for the B+, so...
