Update: The more I have played the game, the better it seems to get. I now have the tone on the large ship for a second or two and then it starts to warble. The small ship is working properly all the time now as soon as he comes out.

Replaced flyback and width coil. Was blowing F902. Found HOT shorted to case and replaced. Flowchart takes you in another direction for F902. It seems F901 is the high voltage side of things??? All is good and Centipede lives a little longer! Thanks

Leave the bar off? OK thanks... Would it be wise to replace the HOT. This flyback burned two holes in the case under the iron bar that goes from top to bottom on the side. Is this unusual or just something that happens?

Somehow the smoke was let out of the flyback transformer. I have a rebuild kit for it and replaced the flyback and noticed there was no core in the width coil. went to unsolder and found a bar across the two posts with the resistor symbol on the board. Replaced the width coil with a Bob Roberts...
