So you don't need to have a battery to operate it but it's nice to have? Who has a replacement battery for it? I will look at it immediately and if its original I'll cut it out of there if its not needed until I can get a replacement

I have one that was converted to an NBA Jam however when trying to strip the black paint off it is taking the ink from The Simpsons Art as well. I guess I could buy just the art and put over it but if anyone nearby has a nice Simpsons cab please let me know. I am in Michigan. Tks

More success! Cleaned contacts on cart, didn't seem dirty but clean soft rag and rubbing alcohol would come out black. Cleaned the board contacts as well after I confirmed player one button does indeed work with a multi board. Bypassed the power switch without a cart and got to the grid...

Ok an update, partial success. I found the green wire did not have continuity, that will hopefully fix the color issue I say partial cause I get to that same grid screen, but now the player one button isn't taking me to the test screens. I also borrowed a mvs cart and I get to the same...

But what will my working pp 1 and pp 2 boards be worth if new ones are out there?
