I thought that too at first, but it's not Bomb Jack although whatever game it is, it's very similar to that in the layout. Thanks though.

Come to think of it, it's very possible that it was a girl and not a boy. I know this game is quite rare because I only remember seeing it on vacation in Italy as a kid one summer. Never saw it again, but the year was 1988.
