The sit down version is what I have. I have about 10 of those tokens for my machine. I used to have hundreds of them when I was a kid but my Mom threw them out at one point :(

I would guess it's supposed to overshoot it. If it's not on the trace then I'm guessing that is where it won't register a hit when you are off target. But hopefully someone on here has one and can confirm how theirs works.
I'm glad the trace is not broken. To clean I use rubbing alcohol and a rag. For really bad spots like the burnt area I would use 800 grit sandpaper. A toothbrush and alcohol could also help with the burnt spot. I'm sure once all that residue is off there it will quit sparking and flaring up...
I agree with dudah that the contacts and traces are dirty. I just had this problem with a Stunt Pilot that I just started restoring. I cleaned the board really good and the contacts. Then put a very light coat of silicone dielectric grease on it. That kept it from having sparks and flames...
I bought a Remington 550 gun stock to replace a missing stock. It took a little drilling but worked great. If your missing the barrel with the trigger that might be a little harder to remake. I was fortunate enough to have the barrel/trigger and was just missing the stock.
