I agree that if you leave the video inputs disconnected in the Q-Bert, your fuse will not blow because you are probably not really isolated in that cab and have a hot chassis which is being directly shorted to ground through the dc ground in the video connector. So dont touch that chassis when...

I say benchtest the tube/chassis for multiple hours with nothing hooked up but the isolated ac input and periodically check B+ and make sure no leads are touching frame, then go from there.

Are you trying to wire Mortal Kombat 1 ?

I think this machine has a hard drive test option in the service menu. You could verify the hdd being through this, but I am sure that it is the hdd. When dealing with hdd problems, I also make sure that there is a steady +5vdc at the 4 pin hdd connector.

Does anyone know of any sites dedicated to redemption machines? I have been searching for a good source for downloadable redemption manuals and also for technical help but have not found much.

If the game locks up in the same spot each time, I would have to suspect the hard drive first.

I am having trouble linking two Slam N Jam games made by LAI games. I made sure that both games had the same version EPROM and followed instructions in the manual, but still get and Error 4. Anyone have any experience with these machines?
