If you're willing to drive to Kansas City or are chummy with Brian Saunders, there's one on CL there for $1,250 that looks pretty nice. The backglass still has the original mask intact, anyway.

I've done that quite a few times, too. The frames here were all under $20 each:

Then you're probably also not interested in spending $3,000 on the original artwork:

I think Alfred Hitchcock used those same stairs when he made the movie "Vertigo." Or maybe they were inspired by M.C. Escher. I can't imagine having to move pins up and down them unless I had a winch like the OP's, but even then it'd still make me pretty nervous. Maybe he should take the...
The Mr. Pinball owner registry lists a half a dozen guys who have this title in their collection. You might try emailing them to see if any of them either have or could take a better pic of the backglass for you than the one on MrHide's website. Brian Saunders would probably be your best bet...
You might try contacting Jeff McAfee and see if he'll sell you his stencils for just the cabinet front. It would make your job easier.

Is this game a reimport? DD's that were shipped to Europe only had sound, but no speech. Is there an auxiliary sound/speech power board in the backbox? If not, then this is an export game.
Probably better to spend $150 more on a decent one:

If you have repair skills, this project game at $350 might have been a good buy. It needs some electrical work but is in better cosmetic condition than the one you were...
Nickel mechs come up on eBay all of the time, with one selling yesterday for $7.50.

I don't think I've ever seen penny mechs other than coin slides. You might ask crowriver.com
Arcadegrafix made some crappy overlays for Xenon years ago with colored inserts. Buy one of CPR repro playfields, like the one shown here:

CPR has also done overlays for Xenon which are excellent (and less pricey)...
You mean one of these? http://i47.tinypic.com/vq1ht2.jpg eBay is the easiest place to find them. Buy a playfield and ask the seller to just send you the ball cover.
